Sounds like bad news for who is expecting a stand up war.

His BJJ coach said that the Cain fight opened his eyes and JDS has intensified his BJJ training after the loss. For reference, his coach is Ramon Lemos, the head coach of Atos team and mentor of the Mendes brothers.

Ramon Lemos said:
We always expect a KO from Cigano, but his ground game is really sharp. The fight against Cain Velazquez was a game changer. Since then, we have been working on this Jiu Jitsu relentlessly, so that he can fight on the ground without reserves. I am very confident that Cigano can win with a submission on this fight, if necessary.

Between this and the recent interviews that have JDS saying that if he needs to take the fight to the ground for a sub or gnp if he needs to, i think this spells bad news for Hunt.

He said almost the same thing before the 2nd Cain fight. Hopefully this doesnt go to the ground

Against hunt those statements are pretty credible

Instead of saying the usual "I am going to knock him out" he has been saying "I am confident in my boxing but if it is not working I will take the fight to the ground"

Well, you can't expect him to say that he feels like out of water on the ground before a fight.

The only time to fully trust these kinds of statements is between fights.

IMO JDS needs to get this fight down at some point to take some steam of hunts hands

He said the same thing against Cain, but, it's good to see him working to improve

This coach is not too good, he needed that one sided beating up to see his disciple's BJJ is so weak. What did they do at the gym?

You get taken down a lot means you need to work wrestling more not jujitsu. Bah.

his TDD is top notch i think he should work on his Muay thai instead of only Boxing...

there is ton of great kickers in Brazil...

I prefer to see a sub than watching 3 rounds of JDS picking Hunt apart like Nelson or Carwin.

BJJ is no use when the wrestler has excellent awareness and top control.Look at GSP,no one can submit him.

It means that he's going to shoot for takedowns against Hunt.

jds will shoot within the first 40 seconds on the fight, wait and see. he scared
