No idea what's going on here, some sort of health test? Any chance someone can give a loose translation? PRODUCT THAT PERFORM
Considering he might be spending a lot of time on his back this time around its a good idea to work on his cardio if that's what it does.
Did a little research and that's kind of what it's for apparently, an exercise for the breathing muscles or something.
The test that JDS does in this video is a test for lung capacity (source). Basically, it's to see how much air (in liter) he can inhale and exhale. I believe it's more like testing for lung "power". (Looks like JDS is working on maximizing his lung output for maximum punching power? :icon_chee) Edit: VO2max (source) is a different test, which is used to test for the maximal aerobic capacity. This test is for endurance, and it isn't the one that JDS did.
Cheers. Now I know what it is it looks like I started the thread to plug the product! Disclaimer Break Brick is in no way affiliated with power breathe or any of it's subsidiaries
He needs to expand his belly when he breathes, and not his chest. Restricts the capacity due to the diaphragm not pulling down as far I thought?
By the way, at 1:00 into the video, I heard one of the testers said "noventa cuatro" (94)? Or was it 394? Edit: Wrong chart lol.
from cracked's article (yes, I'm citing cracked as a source) on 7 basic things we're doing wrong- Read more: http://www.cracked.com/article_1912...lieve-youre-all-doing-wrong.html#ixzz2FVZ7TQr But yea- you get better breathing accomplished through belly breathing than chest breathing
I've taken lung capacity tests, and the test JDS is taking does not appear to be a lung capacity test. Lung capacity tests require you to exhale until you can't exhale anymore. The one JDS is taking he appears to be inhaling as fast as he can.
The text in the end says Training for Inhaling muscles 30 repetitions/twice a day = results in 4 weeks. He was doing a first test and they said he reached 94 (they don`t say the unit). Then the guy says he has a maximum API (I have no idea what that is) of 200. I had never seen this kind of training before. Thanks for posting, TS.
Abdominal breathing is much better then just breating with your chest. You get much more oxygen if you breathe with your belly. You can test it while running. Try to run till you feel small pain on the left side of your belly. You should know what i mean it starts to appear when you are getting exhausted. Now try to use the belly breathing and not only breath with your chest. The small pain will go away quickly and you can run for more time. I also found it usefull to try to breathe only with my nose till I could that also helped with my endurance a bit. I used to do semilong distances running for my uni ( 1500 meters, 3000 meters and sometimes a bit longer races ). And these were the first two things they taught us. Fighting is a bit different bc you cant have so tight repeating pattern for breating as while you run. But I always felt fresher while sparing if I breathe only with my nose and was belly breating.
It isnt realy diff to learn and it will help you in any sport if you do it right. It took me one day to learn and when I tried it in my next race ( 3000 meters running ) I was amazed how much higher pace i was able to run ( and especcialy for how much longer I could run ).
