Jarrett Hurd wants Jaime Munguia unification fight

Hurd, who is known for his high-punching style, heavy hands and his tendency to come on late in his fights, said on Sunday that he wants to fight for the WBO junior middleweight title now. Munguia, 21, won the WBO belt last Saturday night in stopping champion Sadam ‘World Kid’ Ali (26-2, 14 KOs) in the 4th round in a fight televised by HBO World Championship Boxing at the Turning Stone Resort in Verona, New York.

Munguia says he’ll fight Hurd, Gennady Golovkin or Saul Canelo Alvarez. He says wants them all.

This is one of the best matches to make right now. Some Gatti/Ward type stuff where though neither guy is an amazing fighter the match itself would be ridiculously fun. Plus it would be for two legit belts. Hope it happens!

Great fight, and smart move by Hurd. Hurd isn't the most experienced, but at this point, he still has more than Munguia. Get him when he's green.

Not really a fan of his, but I am respecting him more as a fighter. I thought Lara was going to outclass him and break Hurd mentally. He kept his composure and had a great fight. I do dislike his dstyle, and think he needs to stay at 154 as long as he can. I don't think his style will carry to 160.

Mungia isn't ready. He can land a lucky punch but right now he gets overwhelmed late after 6-7 rounds of war.

This could be a tremendous fight provided Mungia racks a little more ring experience.

Hurd stops him, he's going to run right into Hurds punches and Hurd has more championship experience and Munguia is the fighter Hurd looks great fighting and is tailor made for.
