Japan

omae, nani mitelunda?!?! = what the fuck r u looking at.. (is a good one)

LOL, if all else fails and you can't find a gym in Japan, just go round saying this to random Japanese blokes. You might get into a fight with them, and if afterwards you think they had good technique, ask them where they train!

Somehow I knew that Shorin would be the one bumping any 15+ year old thread about Japan.

I'll bite though!

Great place. More expensive than you think it'll be. Would recommend 10/10

Damn a necro thread. Well, I typed all this out before I realized I was answering a 15 year old question, so I'll post it anyway in case it helps someone going in 2025.

I just spent 18 days there. In general I found costs to be about 50%-70% compared to the US. Transportation and food are pretty cheap, lodging more expensive. Tokyo is the most expensive place.

I wasn't traveling on the cheap, so I can't really comment on how low you could go. Also I lived in Japan in 1990-1991, when it was the most expensive place on Earth. So the contrast made it seem super cheap to me. But that probably clouded my perception a little bit.

I'm in Indonesia right now, and that is definitely much cheaper. So compared to the rest of Asia maybe it's not cheap, but compared to the US right now it is.
