Say if Jan wins his fight with Glover and than this is his next fight. Who takes this?

Jiri wins.
Jan is a good fighter, but definitely there to be countered. Jiri leaves him laying imo.

Remember when Jan was a middling mediocre LHW....the current crop of LHWs suck. Im thinking Jiri is a little too unorthodox and catches him clean, but the same can happen to him.

Fully favor Jiri if he has a more calm approach. He knows he has power and is unorthodox. If I was Jiri I wouldnt try to go for the first round KO. Id be a bit more relaxed and focus on defense and then the KO will eventually come. 60/40 for Jiri. TKO within 3.

I think Jan catches him and finishes him.

Jiri is so friggen fun to watch but, hope he doesn't go the old Johnnie walker way.

Walker vs jiri would be fun for a few minutes.

Really hard fight to call. I hate to write glover off. But I'd really like Jan to get through him injury free so we can book that match.

Anyone who definitively says one or the other isn't actually using their head. After everything I've seen from both in their current win streaks I would favor Jiri to finish Jan but maybe a 60% chance at most. Also a good chance he gets caught too clean by one of Jan's counters or even gets decision'd by a patient Jan weathers the storm with good defense and counter TDs.

Jiri does let himself get hit. When the legendary polish power connects he might not be able to handle it.

Naw, we all know this is MMA and anything can happen—especially between 2 very good fighters. I say “Jiri wins” not because I believe it’s 100% certain, but because it’s my prediction and I’m willing to stand behind it. Will happily eat crow if I’m wrong.

Jan has the chin to take enough from Jiri, and the power to hurt him badly with a counter. I think Jan is about the worst matchup possible for Jiri at 205.

My first thoughts is Jan matches up well against Jiri. But, I have to look closer and see if maybe Jiri has some tools I think he will be able to use to win the fight.

Jan has a good enough chin to get inside and get the fight to the ground. He's also strong enough to not get bucked off from back control as well. The question is, how long can he maintain top control and is he calculated enough to not wing punches that land on the end and expend a lot of energy when he misses due to Jiri's movement and lateral quickness.

Truthfully, it's a 50/50 fight solely because of Jiri's striking and his lack of ground game as much as it is about Jan's chin and power. I would definitely like to see it though. Both of these guys can fucking crack.

jan is going to sleep. he's top 5 for sure, but I think Reyes would sleep Jan. I think the only reason he even beat Israel is due to the size difference. Jiri sleeps him easy, if Glover loses that is. I'd take Glover over Jan.

Jan is the least special champion ever. Not particularly great at anything and 37 years old.

My first thoughts is Jan matches up well against Jiri. However, I like Jiri style, so I try to imagine how he will deal with Jan. So I go back and forth and can not really picture it. Then, I just say, well, look how he did agains IA. So I pick Jan. At this point, Jiri is too sloppy for Jan imo. I just see Jan landing shots that Jiri won't recover from then Jan moving forward and finishing. I have to go back and see how Jan lost and see if I can see Jiri putting those moves on him.
Well, Jiri's loss to King Mo is very similar to how he fights to this day. Same style. He came charging in, and King Mo landed a perfect right hand to shut him down. He was rocked decently by Oezdemir a couple of times too.

It's easy to forget because of that awesome finish last night, but Jiri was rocked and panic wrestling against Reyes for a moment there. I didn't think he was all that hurt, until he started wrestling. Goes from not even a hint of grappling to suddenly wanting to wrestle after that punch.

It's an extremely risky style at the heavier weights. It also has massive benefits, as we've seen.

I think Jan is a bad style match up for Jiri.

Jiri is an agressive pressure fighter who eats a lot of shots to dish out his own, and he has mediocre TDD and mediocre BJJ.
Jan on the other hand is a calculated counter striker with good defense, good takedowns, and very good BJJ.

I hope the Jiri hype continues, though, because taking Jan as an underdog has been a betters wet dream lately.
