Jan odds are 6.01 for win (601 dollars for 100 dollar bet) on SportBet, while Gus is 1.17

Jan is not bad at all, he had a close fight with Jimi Manuwa, he TKO'D Gus's teammate Latifi, lost via wrastling against C.Anderson and had a great fight with Pokrajac (both were robbed of FOTN bonus)

thoughts on Jan's chances in this fight? he's record is 19-5 MMA, 2-2 UFC

Has a puncher's chance, but Gus is better everywhere.

    Stranger things have happened though.

That's certainly an overkill for Gus to be at 1.17. Personally, I see Jan upsetting Gus.

and that's right, as pointed out by these posters above, he only loses to black fighters (and good ones on that)

He's tall, big and hits hard. Gus doesn't have the best defense but his overall skills are much better than Jan's. Gus will get hit, he takes big shots in most of his fights against legit guys. It's not a terrible bet, but you're gonna need luck to make a profit.

Side note - it's not the smartest thing to bet on mma. Too many variables and the judging and scoring system have flaws. Basketball is easier since there are so many games so momentum and team play can lead to hot streaks. There's also individual skill with some teams that can decide games. The officiating is a problem there though too.

gus has been through two brutal wars and one brutal KO + waning motivation and a long layoff
this would be the time for an upset

Jan is slow and lacking in KO power. On paper Gus wrecks him. Gus is faster, more mobile, and hits harder.

At +600 almost any fight is worth a bet. Maybe not $100 but I'll drop $50 to win $300.
