“I want to start my retribution tour,” Varner told the Sherdog Radio Network’s “Cheap Seats” show. “I want to start fighting the guys that I’ve lost to. First would definitely be Joe Lauzon. I’d really like to fight Joe again.”

This is just a day or two after he said he wanted a fight with Rafael Dos Anjos, Ross Pearson, Matt Wiman, or T.J. Grant

Jamie Varner said Rafael Dos Anjos, Ross Pearson, Matt Wiman and T.J. Grant are among the fighters he's looking at for his next octagon appearance.

The former WEC champ anticipates an injured thumb will keep him from meeting one of them until April, but his only preference is that he moves closer to title contention.

"I think Dos Anjos is on a streak, so he may be on my radar more so than anyone else," Varner told MMAjunkie.com Radio (www.mmajunkie.com/radio). "But Grant, I've been hearing his name pop up a lot, as well."

So what do you make of all this? I think he should fight a guy coming off a win, not Lauzon.

He should fight Joe Rogan instead. Who wouldn't pay to see that?

I agree, he should fight a guy coming off a win , but I would love to see him fight lauzon.
I have a feeling Varner is going to start talking, a lot.
Lauzon is one of my favourite fighters and is such a humble guy it would be great to see him grind a result out over him

No interest in that fight. Lauzon won. Stop being so butt hurt, Jamie.

I highly doubt it will happen. UFC doesn't seem to put together non-title fight rematches too often unless it is controversial (ie a Leonard Garcia fight) or it makes sense for the title picture (Okami/Belcher).

Although I will not often defend Varner or his personality, I don't know why you guys are mad at him for wanting a rematch with Lauzon.

He wants to avenge his losses. Every REAL fighter should want to do the same thing. It sucks knowing that someone has a win over you, especially if you genuinely believe you are the better fighter.

Delusional? Perhaps. But without that mindset you end up STAYING a loser.

I understand it, for sure. It's a clear cut win for him, and the only reason it wasn't in the first one was because of the short notice and lacking some cardio. I see Dana trying to use the "it doesn't make sense" line to protect Lauzon. Lauzon will never be a champ or have a title shot without politics backing him, he's just not a good enough striker and wrestler. This is one of the cases where it does make sense for a guy coming off a win to fight a guy coming off a loss. A win over Lauzon will put Varner's stock higher, as Lauzon is much, much higher ranked.

Eh, it was FOTY to many people, and many think Jamie would win a rematch. The fight wouldn't be a dumb move on the UFC's part.

It was a good fight Jamie but please.. Stop this. : /

LOL Lauzon won fair and square and while its true that Jaime may win the rematch...so what? Lots of fighters who won fights could lose the rematches. What sense does it make to keep going back and forth fighting the same fucking guys? You lost, get over it and move on. Fight someone else.

I think it is true Jamie would be favored in the rematch. I would love to see them fight again, I don't see why you wouldn't. Their first fight was awesome. He took the fight on short notice, I think it could make sense for a rematch.

Pearson vs Varner in the UK

If Bisping defeats Belfort, he and Anderson can headline.

No F'ing way- Jamie already had his chance to use Lauzon's name to his advantage, and he's already done so by having a great fight. What does this rematch have to offer Lauzon? Nothing!

If Cerrone loses to Pettis, I think this is the better match to make; Cerrone vs Varner III

I kind of feel like you step on your own feet here.

What's the point? So many great DIFFERENT fights at LW for both guys. Pointless fight right now imo.

Personally, I like the other 4 fights better, and they all make more sense. But I wouldn't mind the Lauzon fight, that is all. Neither guy seems like a true title contender to me.
