On this weeks episode of Open Mat Radio, we have James Puopolo on the show. In this interview, we talk about how he

James is a great guy, runs a really fantastic academy, and is probably the best competitor to ever come out of the PNW.

James was a really great guy the few times i've trained with him.

Awesome to see James get a lot of support. We hope you all enjoy the interview. He, and his teamate Rader, both pull off some crazy schedules while competing at a high level. What percentage of black belt champs do you think have full time jobs outside of jiu jitsu?

Also, It's crazy to think that he didn't start jiu jitsu until after HS, lives far away from his coach and works a full time job all while wracking up high level competition wins.

Has anyone taken Jiu-Jitsu in college before? I thought it was awesome to hear it was offered as a pass/fail course at the University of Oregon!

Another bump for those that haven't listened! Does anyone here train gymnastics with BJJ? James talked about the benefits in the interview

Yes the Portland Vancouver area colleges all offer bjj curriculum. Portland state has a class opperated by 5rings jiu jitsu, Clark college has a program, as well as pcc..
