Remember when the Sandman was in the UFC? Well this is a fight after he got cut from the UFC against a guy that clearly didn’t belong in the cage. This is from 2012 so Irvin hasn’t been in the UFC for over 10 years now, time flies huh.

Props to the Sandman for not killing the guy.

wow, almost ended it at about 2:30 with one leg kick. but that was nice to restrain himself, dude was waayyy over matched.

i'll always remember how the Sandman got that nasty cut from one punch by the Spider after catching his kick

Well, Mr Mike LaFlir did decide to retire after this James Irvin fight, which, not surprisingly, was his first fight. Looks like that was his first time of the couch in a good long while. Props top him for getting in there though. God Damn.

I was thinking the same thing. Irvin dropped him a bunch of times and he kept getting back up and coming forward. That takes huge balls, skill or no skill.

That type of drive does win fights. He could have been ripped to shreds but if he just flopped when he got hit he would have looked even worse

The last one really sucked. He got injured fairly bad on the falling out of the cage one if I remember correctly
 
i was a fan of the sandman. He had some awesome highlights, the flying knee KO, putting houston alexander down with one shot and then standing over him firing his pistol both come to mind.

Agreed. The fucker went into the cage knowing to a certainty that he was going to catch a vicious beating in front of a bunch of people. Knowing that he was going to take off his shirt and people were going to laugh. Mad fucking respect.
 
Wonder why he never fought for Bellator after signing there. Must be injuries
