A day after confirming to MMAFighting.com that he would remain in the featherweight ranks, James Gallagher’s opponent for Bellator Dublin has been confirmed as Jeremiah Labiano (11-5).

Bellator announced the main event matchup for the Nov. 10 show at the 3 Arena on Wednesday via press release.

Coming off the biggest win of his career to Chinzo Machida at Madison Square Garden, the unbeaten SBG fighter Gallagher believes this will be the biggest event Bellator have ever brought to Ireland.

In what is becoming commonplace for “The Strabanimal,” he has predicted to win with a “strangle”, which would mark the first submission loss of Labiano’s career.

“Welcome to the real Jimmy show,” said Gallagher, according to the press release.

“It will be a first for the fans here to have a Bellator event of this magnitude in Ireland and it’s the first time that my opponent will ever be strangled, so I’m glad it’s in front of my people.

“It’s the first phase of building the Jimmy empire, and I'm still only 20.”

Labiano has fought under the Bellator banner on three occasions, amassing a record of 2-1 with the promotion.

He carries a two-fight win streak going into the bout. He claimed the Conquer FC featherweight title in his last outing against Jackson-Wink fighter, Stephen Cervantes, taking the decision win after five rounds of action.

The American claimed stoppages in his first seven winning performances, but has not finished a fight since 2013. According to the press release, Labiano is a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

One of the most highly touted prospects to ever come from the Irish scene, Gallagher remains undefeated after seven professional outings. He has finished all but one of his fights, his Bellator debut, where he was forced to go the distance with England’s Mike Cutting.

the Rich Chou/Scott Coker special right here.

Another squash match.

Obviously fighting a bum, but he's only young and I guess it's a better fight than Anthony Taylor.

UFC cards are so watered down. Bellator is about to take over.

Machida wasnt a great fighter or a great prospect but he was a bit of a name and you follow that up with a main event slot vs this guy?

did same with AJ, just when you think ok this guy is now ready to take the next step they follow it up with another weak fight.

Labiano might be legit, I mean, a win over Cervantes is way better than anything that Chinzo has ever done.

That being said, Gallagher should win.

Labiano is not a name but he's probably better than most guys gallagher has fought, though i'm not sure since i've never seen the guy fight and am just basing it off his fight history, so who knows, my guess is that he's not dangerous on his feet and will be just bad enough on the ground to be dominated by gallagher but i hope he knows how to defend a RNC, i want to see gallagher have some adversity on the ground for once

the risk of doing these matches to pad fighters records is that occasionally the guy they setup to win will lose, we've seen it in bellator already a few times.

Meh I understand the grevances.

That said though, Gallagher is still only 20. Seriously, think about that. He can't even legally drink yet(in the states at least). Dude is actually younger than pico

Wonder if James is just talking it up, or is he serious when he says that Bellator is giving a real push for this Ireland card

I hear this is the last fight on Gallagher's Bellator contract.

I hope the UFC offers him a better deal so that he gets put up against fighters that could have a chance at beating him. The forced Gallagher hype has been more annoying than anything.

EDIT: Read that article again. It's the main event. What a sorry event that will be.

UFC cards are so watered down. Bellator is about to take over.

lol @ crying about watered down UFC cards when discussing Gallagher vs Labiano as a main event.
Man, this Bellator Dublin card will be the death of the UFC (100%!)

You're probably being sarcastic and I'm just too stupid to realize it at 3am in the morning.

I guess it will not be a big event but they are showcasing their newborn star. They may not get good TV ratings but I guess they are betting on having a good gate.

Bellator is doing a good job building Gallagher. Of course this shit can backfire but they are at least trying.

Sherdoggers want to see him lose but I think the promotion is doing fine here.
