He's right, It's going to take an outsider. Fighters under extremely restrictive contracts are helpless to better their collective position. It's a company town on the level of West Virginia coal mining in the early 20th century. Long term healthcare is a just a basic requirement for this business and UFC is too cheap to provide it while they pocket billions. Not to mention the 15% cut they give their fighters compared to 50% or more in other major sports. He points out that Ari Emanuel made more last year than the ENTIRE ROSTER put together.

Hopefully he hires a professional that actually knows they are doing

And he needs to get into contact with the big management groups and get those guys to work together

A union, as well as actual health care, are a non starter in combat sports. Paul's time would be better spent funding lawsuits or lobbying Congress.

Just curious - does anyone actually think Jake Paul cares about anyone but himself?
He to his credit did a very good job promoting Taylor-Serrano.

You mean those management groups that often work in the UFC's interests instead of their fighters?

Dude…you’re too cynical
Yes, but also the most prominent and powerful manager literally testified against his clients and fighters in favor of a promoter the first chance he got to. Let's not kid ourselves here, managers in mma see more money to be made sucking up to the UFC than trying to improve fighter pay (and their comissions that way).

Until that changes, managers aren't going to lift a finger for fighters.

He’s trying to keep his name relevant in combat sports. His last fight flopped and he’s losing his buzz.

I believe it's more of an attempt to punish Dana. Do you know how much media he gets just for having said the words Dana and the UFC.
Some, but a lot less than he's already got. He's not exactly a nobody.
