BKFC and why is that not an option?
Didn’t think about BKFC while making this thread, but good one!
Although I’m not sure if that would be as exiting with Bigi’s tentative counter-style. What do you think?

I have no problem with them cutting most HW outside the top 5. You can be low skilled or you can be boring, but you can't be both. Most of them are both.

I remember mentioning in the PBP thread that Roz might be the worst guy to see on the ground.

He just lays there, doesn't make much of an effort to get up or attack off his back, he just lays there trying to neutralize gnp and wait for the end of round. Doesn't have great takedown defense so why not just repeat if you're his opponent.

Overeem did just that and left too much time on the clock

Funny how it works, Jarzinho cleans up Tuivasa easily (don't believe the split cards), drops one and gets the arse. Tai has dropped 5 in a row and is still under contract as far as I know.
Tai win or lose is there to fight.

despite all the KOs, he did way too much standing around. reminds me a bit of OSP, so much physical potential but had trouble pulling the trigger. a bit like woodley at the end too.

A surprising of a release to me, a top 10 heavyweight who is the ideal gatekeeper.

Rozenstruik beats everyone besides top 5 contenders. He's got wins over Tuivasa, Daukaus, Gaziev and basically ended definitively old timers like JDS, Overeem, Arlovski as contenders.

His losses were to top 5 contenders who are either ready to challenge for the title, challenged for it, or one fight away from challenging - Pavlovich, Blaydes, Gane, Ngannou, Almeida and Volkov.

With the state of heavyweight division relatively weak and his impressive resume of opponents, any new up-and-comer who beats him gains respect and moves closer to legit title challenger status. He also has a cool stat of starting his UFC career undefeated with 4 straight KO victories within one calendar year (2019)!

I think UFC should have kept him on and fed him to up and comers like Gaziev (rematch), Jhonata Diniz or new prospects.

And for the love of God, when will they fix this forum? I mean...

The forum has looked whack for a while.

Even how it was before, all of our posts looked like we were replying to each other all the time.

Terrible move by UFC. Rozenstruick is a high level fighter that definitely deserves to be in the best league.

I was baffled when I just read about the cut.

he didnt’ even beat overeem, who was totally awake and fine. that was garbage decision by the ref… surreal to see that happen in real time

I'd say go to Glory or KC. Mma isn't where his success is going to come from.

HW is too awful to be cutting guys like Rozenstruik. Five losses in a row Tai is still ranked lol.
It's cause he got Australian fans and gets finished or finishes. Rozenstruik probably gets paid a lot, doesn't look like he will ever contend, and didn't have enough exciting fights recently to where they feel he is not worth the money. He is 36/37.

I don't understand the UFC. Sometimes it seems like they're trying to kill off Heavyweight. It's been on life support for years, but now they're just randomly axing people who still have things to offer at the weight class while keeping the dregs around as long as possible.

-- Karl Williams was "too boring" despite a 3-0 record in the promotion, so they gave him the backstage talk to not use his primary skill set. Then when he lost a competitive fight against another surging prospect, they cut him immediately.
-- Jairzinho Rozenstruik was a gatekeeper who would never beat the elites of the division, but he had legitimately improved elements of his game and has several brutal finishes on his record. Now they unceremoniously release him. He could have been used to fill out PPV undercards and Fight Night Main Cards for a while yet.
-- Alexandr Romanov... I was never high on the guy from the start and he had some rough moments, but again he was still solid enough for a Top 15 guy and at least showed a bit of effort to improve here and there. But they showed no interest in renewing his contract.

Why are we cutting these guys while Tuivasa is still around despite his streak of five losses, most of which were fights where he got outclassed/finished? I'm probably one of the few Don'Tale Mayes "fans" in the entire world, but the guy has been a middling .50 fighter in the promotion since he got signed... and when he loses, he loses bad. Ditto with Chris Barnett, whose spectacle has worn off and seems physically/mentally shot at this point (understandable given his age and what he went through in his personal life).

I mean for fuck's sake, Łukasz Brzeski is still on the roster! The dude popped for PEDs in his DWCS win, lost his first three UFC fights, won a razor-thin Decision, and has gotten knocked out twice since then. He has a 1-5 record in the UFC... what the fuck??

Talk about a shitty fucking contract.

Brother go outside. The air is crisp and refreshing. I shot my bow today and feel great. My aim is terrible but it was nice to get outside and realize none of anything we type matters. Just like what I typed
