Is kind of a brilliant management move if you ask me.

He doesn't want to wait for the title shot. If you fight a MW and lose, bye bye to your dreams of the title. If you fight up a weight class and lose, you could still get the title shot and you don't have to cut weight.

Furthermore, picking a guy who is past his prime but a big name is as ideal as you can get. Make money and build up your legacy with a fight that would not be as risky as some others. Would be a real smart move for them and I think top contenders should do this more often when the timing for the shot doesn't line up.

What's with elite Brazilian MWs wanting Hendo? Belfort moved up to beat Hendo and now Jacare wants that fight. Personally, I don't want to see this fight. Either Hendo gets tooled or Jacare loses, and it does kill momentum for a title shot with Weidman. If Jacare wants to fight instead of waiting, it should be with a lesser-ranked MW. Someone like Boetsch.
