Izzy stood square and KO'd Rob. Anderson stood square and got KTFO by Weidman

It is said to be a cardinal sin to square up your feet during striking as you're a bigger target and you sacrifice your base.

Izzy disregarded that and showed Andy how it's really done, KO'ing a fellow striker in the process. Meanwhile, Andy's soul got sent to the shadow realm by an American wrestler.

There truly are levels to this shit.

    That is all.

Anderson was almost 40 years old, had the longest UFC title defense streak in history and held multiple records still active to this day when he got beat by Weidman.
How dare a fighter loses after 10 title-defenses - He must be a bum and inferior to the guy who has... not a single title defense..?

Andy dodged and dodged. Izzy dodged and countered after the first shot Rob threw.

So tired of these threads comparing Adesanya and Silva. I do believe that it is common sense that Israel is more advanced than Anderson in the striking department. And I personally don't believe any version of Anderson wouldn't struggle against Israel.

However it is silly because without Anderson and everything he has done there would likely be no Israel Adesanya. Anderson was a big influence for him.

Silva was clowning to the extreme and that's why he got KOed. There was no incredible display of skill by Weidman. Only an incredibly ignorant mistake on Silva's part. How's Whineman doing these days?

weidman made 360K losing in his last fight, 300K just to show up for a night..... so I'd say he is doing better than you with his $3.7M in career earnings

This. Anderson fucked around and dodged and played possum without throwing a punch. Why are you comparing results when one guy throws a punch and the other doesn’t TS?

I dont think it's common sense at all. Israel may be more technically sound than Anderson. But Anderson's power/matrix ability when he was in his prime far exceed Israel's now.

Bonus: Andy could also finish fights on the ground. Can Israel?

I did say in the striking specifically. But Israel's matrix ability is just as good if not better. They have slightly different approaches though.

What's with you robots and stats? The thread is obviously about striking acumen. How was Anderson better?

    Use your words, not Google.

Yes, lets compare different fights featuring different fighters at different stages of their MMA career. That will help clear things up.

I'm still convinced that if Rob would have at least attempted some wrestling to throw off Israel instead of engaging in a stand-up fight with a better striker we might have had a different result.
