Some might say it isn't thread worthy but I was surprised Forrest had trained this much.

I worked out that with me training ju-jitsu for 4 years and doing about 5 hours a week whilst at it that I've done around 1040 hours (if anyone cares).

I wonder how much someone like demian maia has trained.

I think he might be exaggerating a bit. That would work out to training over and hour a day, every day for 12 years.

hes a pro fighter fighting since 2001, 9 years his main style has been BJJ, he could of easily done 6000 hours considering most train 6-8 hrs a day(most do two sessions a day, morning and night)

chael sonnen believes him, too.

chael like seriously can't believe it and forrest is like "good try, dude. gotta look for those triangles." and chael is still broken and unresponsive.

After reading his book: while I believe he may have trained that much, I highly doubt he would have tracked the actual hours. . .

Thats really not that hard to believe. If he has been fighting since 2001. Lets say 9 years since 2011 just began. 6000/9 is 667 hours a year. Now he isn't going to train every single day of the year so lets put the number around 320 day a year that gives him 45 days off. I think that is probably about right for a professional fighter.
667/320=2.08

It isn't that hard to believe that a professional fighter will train 2 hours a day at BJJ for 9 years given that they take a few days off through out the year.

Say he's been training 10 years. Say he trains 5 days a week. This would require him to train 2.3 hours each of those days.

Its a lot for sure, but for a pro-fighter? Definitely do-able.

2.3 hours a day seems like quite a lot considering he has to train wrestling, striking and conditioning also.

Plus it's not like he started training full time he was working as a cop I believe possibly up until he was on tuf.

Professional fighters train like 6-8 hours a day. I think it would be pretty easy to do BJJ for about 2 hours a day, hell its probably the lightest part of their day since a lot of itis learning and drilling technique

pro fighters dont train 6-8 hours a day. they would be injured all the time. maybe 2-3 hours a day and 5 hours of hanging around the gym etc etc

I train my ass off a few hours a day 3 time a week... Im sure he does more. not to hard to believe

That is a real low number I would put it at a minim of four hours with strength and conditioning.

I think 3 or 4 hours a day is the figure I more commonly here quoted from fighters talking about how often they train. The only fighter I've seen say he trains 8 hours a day is tito and we all know he's always injured/full of bs.

Can you reference any fighter interview where they say they train 8 hours a day?

No but I was also including walking though stuff, game planning, watching tape etc as training so its not all hard work on your body.
