I've been saying this whole time: Rumble is the bigger threat to Jones.

I'm a huge fan of Jones and I would have loved to see the rematch with Gus, but I never thought Gus would do any better than the first time. It takes a complete fighter to defeat Jones, and Gus has a few weaknesses.

IMO Rumble is a MUCH more difficult match up for Jones. Good footwork and wrestling, he's able to keep focus and fights intelligently, and he has the most KO power of any opponent Jones has faced.

I believe Jones can go down as the best of all time someday and seeing him coast by on easy opponents would be a tragedy.

Props to Gus, he's a tough guy and that was a tough loss to swallow. I'm sure he'll bounce back.

What does everybody think of DC vs Gus?

EDIT

I don't mean to say Gus would be an easy rematch, but that Rumble poses the biggest threat

I disagree. I'm not really looking forward to the fight. It's a shame, I thought Gus was the only one who could beat Jones.

Both guys will probably fight him this year anyway.

Rumble can implement his game plan WITH TDD.

Gus has to run around the ring, think TDD at all times, then pot shot.

Rumble will stalk forward, throw strikes, TDD.

Gus will run around, think TDD first and foremost, then leap in with strikes.

Rumble's striking is less effected, because of his natural aptitude for TDD. Gus is more of a "don't get taken down, don't get taken down, don't get taken down!" style of striker.

Basically, Rumble knows how to shrug you off. Gus uses up all his energy in that department.

I didn't think Johnson had much of a shot tonight. He proved a lot of us wrong but now my next doubt is can he go 5 rounds? We will see how the Jones vs Johnson fight goes but I have Jones as of now.

Na. A great striker beats Jones

AJ isnt quick enough and will get takendown. I favor Gust and Glover more than i favor AJ

Agreed. I'm extremely excited to see these guys face off!

And Gus is more delicate on his feet. Both feet aren't always planted all the time. He bounces around, so he has to stop and think TDD.

Rumble is usually always planted, and is always in prime position for TDD.
