It's hard for me to date girls who didnt grow up with brothers

Every girl I've ever dated who was high maintainence and had unrealistic expectations on male behavior have the same thing in common - no brothers.

I just realized this with the last couple girls, and I see the pattern now and it totally makes sense. They grew up watching Teen Princess or whatever shows and had no brothers around to show them how guys really are, what we are interested in, how testosterone changes the personality. The only male figure they have is their dad, who being surrounded by women, has probably had to stifle his most masculine behaviors.

TS has a point. My wife was the middle of three daughters, with no brothers. Barely had a father figure either, her parents split up when she was 7 or 8, her mom had full custody, then her dad died when she was 27.

Her general understanding of men is really poor, and sometimes I wonder if she’d understand me better if she had grown up with brothers or a more stable father figure.

I do think girls that had brothers make for better girlfriends. They get men better than those that were just surrounded by girls growing up.
