The US has borrowed a lot of imagery and other things from Rome. Wasn't Rome like 80% slaves? lol. We still have a slave dependent culture.

So i can either be a "slave" doing a career i enjoy for a lot of money -- or i can be free and build my own house and forage for my own food?

Also it's weird that a stock market jockey like @JonesBones has to gall to call anyone else a slave.

Rome had about 20% slaves at it most. What country do you think never had slaves at all? How many ancient world powers did not have slaves?

But Rome pushed civilization forward and was a world power. I am sure we have some stuff in common.
