It was stupid not to give cain a tune up fight

A plodding striker with no TD defense against a cardio machine wrestler. Seems like great match making actually, either the former champ takes out a dangerous but beatable opponent or Francis gets a good win under his belt.

If you believe that you're dumb as shit my man haha. Dana hasnt had a single good thing to say about Francis since Stipe/Blackbeast - this was ment to prop Cain up, not Francis.
Prop Cain up for what?
A title shot against his best buddy that he won't fight?
lol

Why would you throw cain, who has been gone for 3 years, in to the lions den with the number 3 rank who has savage KO power and is hard to take down when he is fresh.

Even dom cruz took a lower ranked guy to shake of the ring rust before he went for his title again.

Poor thinking by dana and the matchmakers. At least cain was smart enough to get a new contract and pay rise before that humiliating defeat.

He should have been a co-main event against a lower ranked guy. Oh well, lets see who he gets next, when he gets back from his latest injury.

What are you talking about? They did, and he got tuned up quite nicely.

In all likelihood, the finish is exactly what the UFC wanted.

They always feed older, veteran fighters to the young, hungry lions in the hopes that the younger fighter will prevail and feed off the rub they get from the veteran. MMA's booking philosophy is similar to pro wrestling's in this sense, even if it's a real sport.

The UFC hit a home run with this one.

Cain is so inactive that it's not financially prudent to waste him on a tune up fight.

Actually, I was all hyped up before the fight, didn't know who was going to win, if he came in like he does vs Browne, I actually worried for Ngannou.

Your hindsight is crystal clear
Next time try posting before the event and you'll sound prophetic instead of bleedingly obvious

If Cain beats Ngannou he is fast tracked into the top 3 where he left off

If Ngannou wins he stays at the top of the division and has a win over a former champ and someone who has been considered UFC HW GOAT

It was a win/win for the UFC

Cain isn't very smart.
1. Not choosing a tuneup fight.
2. Choosing an opponent whose style is his Achilles Heel.
3. Choosing a game plan for his Achilles Heel opponent that gives that opponent the maximum chance of beating him.

Ego & business. He had to protect his brand. He knew it could be his last dance. Going down against a monster still looks good in the public’s eye. Imagine Cain getting murked by a journeyman

probably the only way they would give him the pay he wanted, Is if he fought someone In the top 5.

The former Heavyweight champion who did not eat his wheaties got obliterated by a more hungry fighter. Let’s stick to watching fights and less excuses tinkerbell, this is not basket weaving. A tune up fight was not necessary, the exec’s must have also agreed with me on that front. Time to cue the man card.

It was stupid not to give cain a tune up!!

Ngannou is about as good of a matchup as Cain could want. Just look how badly he got wrestlefucked by Stipe. Cain is perfect stylistically.

He just got wrecked.

Either your a UFC fighter or your not.

Having ngannou elevated is better than cain gettin beat by a scrub.
