Two solid LHWs, counter punches, with solid TDD. I'm always curious how this would have gone. Personally, I think prime Machida would have beaten Chuck as he was a faster than him, and more technical. Chuck used to become a brawler when push came to shove. Either way, here's to the UFC circa 2005-2010 !

It would of been interesting! I really miss the allure of that old LHW division. So many matchups.

If Chuck had that chin, I'd say Machida via "being a puzzle" decision.

I remember after UFC 84 we were supposed to see Machida vs. Wanderlei. Incredible clash of styles.

Machida just beat Ortiz and was on the rise, Wand just beat Jardine in stunning fashion after a rough patch. It was the perfect time for this fight and Rogan alluded to it.

Chuck coming in with his hands down against such a precise striker in Machida would have resulted in a KO

chuck would have caught him. thanks for the flashback ts.

  6. Machida would win. Even Jardines style was too puzzling for Chuck to figure out.

Chuck would have likely gotten frustrated by Machida's elusive movement and gone to the wrestling. I think it'd be a clearcut UD for Machida unless Chuck could catch him with something crazy. But he'd have to catch him literally.

Oh my god that would have been amazing.

I wish prime Thiago Silva vs Shogun would have happened, and vs Rampage. And Rampage Shogun2.

Chuck was a flat footed stand in front of you bar brawler....Machida was "elusive".... Chuck would have been too aggressive and Machida would have countered and KO'd Chuck.....

Yeah but some people were asking for Wand/Tito rematch after that as well.

But for this fight yeah depends on Chuck's chin. Either Machida by KO or decision.

John Hackleman was once quoted as saying that's a bad match up for Chuck and if anyone would know it'll be him.

It's hard to say, since their primes didn't overlap at all. By the time Machida was entering "dangerous" territory in the UFC(not the guy the UFC kept putting on undercards because he didn't have any finishes), Chuck was already past his sell by date.

Assuming Machida at his peak vs Chuck at his peak it's one very interesting fight. Machida wouldn't have had the chops to put Chuck away, and I have to assume Chuck would find a way to get his licks in. I think it would likely go to a fairly close decision one way or another.

    Lyoto KO

One fight I've always wanted to see was Lyoto Machida vs Anderson Silva
