At 2:22 left of the second round, Conor was tagged and he never recovered. If that punch hadn't landed, would he have been able to pace himself? If so, he might have been able to take Nate out, seeing how he had hurt him pretty bad before that.

He was slowly gassing over time. He was throwing everything he had into those punches that Nate started to walk through in the second round after he warmed up. Nate hit him with a straight left and a jab and then preceded to kick his ass all over that cage for a solid minute.

Canner got rocked from a Stockton slap, and it wasn't even from volume. Wonder why his cardio disappeared like Cains?

So, Connor fans bashed Mendes for his excuses yet they are using similar excuses when McGregor losses...

He gassed at 3 minutes 10 seconds, he looked noticeably bad after that and breathing heavily around then and overreaching. He was never the same after that.

Mendes he barely hit Conor, he had most success on the ground. Conor gassed out from throwing too many shots at 170..

Big difference,

Nate was never hurt in that fight.

No. He missed a lot of big wheel kicks and left hands and that shit gasses you out. He wasn't all of a sudden gassed after eating one punch...

Watch when there is a little over 3 minutes left in the 2nd round, Conor is hitting Nate with everything he has and Nate just throws his hands up and says what bitch, you could tell from that moment Conor was like oh shit.....

I don´t agree. At least not 100%. He starts getting tagged after the knee in 3:42. From that moment, Nate lands almost everthing he throws.
A strong right hand in 3:25
A slap in 3:19
Another right in 3:16
At 3:12 you can tell by Conor´s face, and muvment, he is not OK, and starts getting sloppy.
He gets punch again at 3:06 after trying Chris Weidman´s wheel kick.
Nate lands again in 3.04
Slap at 3.00
Right hand at 2.55
Another one at 2.43
And finally ROCK & ROLL at 2.23

It´s not because of that punch itself (the first time I watch the fight I thought that too). Since the knee to the body he gets sloopy/strong right hand at 3:25... he starts getting tagged easily.

That strike landed because he was gassed

Exactly

He's always had a suspect gas tank but Nate was landing some clean shots in the first and second. Conor was winding his punches and putting his heart and soul into every single one. He may have tired himself out some but he certainly never recovered from that first 1, 2 combo. Maybe he was on the tipping point already but that that shot on his chin changed his whole world.

It was his leg cardio that seemed to suffer after those punches. He's needs to train more leg cardio.
