Israel seems to be handling this well for someone who used to talk about GOAT status

We know that's never going to happen now, not only does he have glaring holes in his game but he also has a big fat L in his prime. He also lost a chance at the Jones fight... not that it would have went well with his wrestling and grappling.

That commercial they aired about him saying he was going to become the GOAT on every commercial break was mindblowing(ly) annoying.

Even just looking at him it was clear that he would have no business competing with the top heavy guys.

His frame is very skinny by nature, and even though he is very skilled as a fighter, at such a high level size plays a huge factor.

izzy has 0 future at lhw
Kennedy Nzechukwu
on the other hand i real trouble

His wrestling and grappling though... as soon as he comes up against someone who can take him down again he has no real chance to win.

Silva at least had his BJJ to bail him out.

Fedor, Anderson, and GSP are probably the most common 3 that come up for GOAT talks and all of them have multiple losses.

Izzy isnt out of talks because he lost ONCE at a higher weight class.

That said, no modern fighter imho is going to ever be taken seriously in GOAT talks as its much harder to look impressive against today's fighters than it was to look good in ye olden days

You're forgetting it's easier to get taken down when you've let your opponent have roughly around 30 lbs on you come fight night. Obviously that's the choice Izzy made and affected him in this fight but wouldn't be the case against most MW's.

Think about it.

Your entire account is for trolling purposes. You've probably never watched Anderson fight.

Izzy is still the best middleweights on the planet. No shame to losing to an amazing figure like Jan. He will be the mw goat after defending his title 2 or 3 more times.

Prime Anderson would've gotten his ass whopped far worse than izzy if he fought current Jan.

I don't think size played such a huge factor in the fight. They both seemed to react equally to the strikes. The takedowns were just well timed and not using raw strength. Maybe it played a role in the top control of Jan, but that's all. Simply Izzy has a hard time against counter-strikers.

Jan had a bit of size advantage let's leave it at that. Jan also has no real wrestling credentials and he took Israel down easily.
