Looks like who's president doesn't matter that much.
It was going to happen whoever was in charge.

Makes sense its like football, you have to have a playbook that is known and practice for all kinds of scenarios. Can't wait until something happens and respond not being prepared.

I can understand that people oppose striking Iran,
But acting like they haven't been involved in attacks on US assets is a bit naive
AI can do a quick list of Irans attacks on US assets.

Estimated Total Impact

  • U.S. Military Deaths: ~873 (241 from Beirut 1983, 19 from Khobar Towers, ~603 from Iraq 2003–2011, 5 from Karbala, 3 from Tower 22, others).
  • U.S. Civilian Deaths: ~22 (17 from Beirut Embassy, 3 from Gaza, 1 from Baghdad, 1 contractor in Hasakah).
  • Injured: Over 1,000 U.S. personnel and civilians (e.g., ~500 in Khobar Towers, 110 in 2020 Al-Asad, dozens in 2023–2024 attacks).

Press freedom improved after the Egyptian revolution, then regressed some and then fell off a cliff after the US backed a military coup there. Again, you're ignorant of the region, let alone country. You automatically assume these are illiberal societies, even when there is clear irrefutable evidence that the US backed coup led to a significantly less liberal Egypt.
You r never left your couch. You googled for two seconds and took the word of some retard you met in the bathroom at Starbucks. You’re just like those blonde girls this at got beheaded in Morocco (think it was Morocco). We’re all just alike! Go fucking try it out. Seriously. You’ll never believe it until it’s too late so do us all a favor. Go. Burn your passport once you’re there though

I was against overthrowing Saddam at the time when it was a very unpopular opinion, even among lefties, I was also against overthrowing Gaddafi however I think you have to prevent Iran getting Nukes, that's just a no-brainer. Sure there will be bad fallout from this like Europe getting flooded with even more migrants but nowhere near as bad as the potential fallout of letting this regime get nukes.

Brave move by Trump as this will be unpopular, he could have played it safe and done nothing but he was looking out for the long-term best interests of the world even if it hurts his popularity.

Piers is war hungry western kind of guy following the lead of big gangsters like Trump, Net n¨ yahoo, etc... not questioning their actions, blindly standing behind them whatever they do
His reasoning and logic left the building long time ago
He is a robot spreading false and criminal propaganda

Donald Trump : "I’m hearing reports that there are Iranian enrichment facilities hidden in all my haters’ homes."

and all of those attacks could have been avoided if US avoided middle east all together + if the US didnt overthrow legitimate Iranian government in the 70s so it could be replaced with religious fanatics

go read some more of the bullshit twitter posts so you know which narratives to spread next.
flip flop off you go.

Lol pretty much my morning routine - being confused and gobsmacked.

Wasnt expecting this, figured it'd be a proxy war. Nope.

I literally woke up this morning, saw the news alert on my phone about Trump bombing Iran, and muttered,

"Of course he did. Two weeks my arse!"

And then I went back to sleep. :)

Legal experts say Obama would have the authority to launch airstrikes in Syria without congressional approval, though they say his standing would be strengthened if the scope and duration of the attacks were limited.

“The Constitution gives only Congress the power to initiate war,” said Ilya Somin, a law professor at George Mason University. “You could argue that a small number of strikes over a small number of days does not constitute a war”

Please tell us how bombing these facilities is going to stop Iran from getting nukes? With no regime change, this might even make Iran getting nukes happen QUICKER. They now know they will be bombed nonstop UNLESS they have nukes.

If saddam hadn’t attacked Kuwait, if the Germans hadn’t started ww2, if Europeans didn’t draw arbitrary borders… if Iran fortified its borders instead of attack Americans in Iraq, if Iran didn’t stand up multiple proxy forces to exert its Shi’a concentration of power in attempt to restore a previous Persian dominance. You can keep turning the pages back, but the fact is those things did happen and Iran eats the consequences. They’re culpable for this train wreck as well.

Oh and people can bitch about America meddling in Iranian politics, it’s a warranted complaint but arguably Iran was much better pre-1979 than post.. if Iran had not gone full secular with an extremist government then who knows where we would be at.

wow.......Dan Raisincane....he said that.........I mean that is my name, but.

The reactions right now have all the hallmarks that it was not planned to launch this attack on Iran right now. They were in the middle of pursuing peace with Iran and it looks like ''someone'' jumped the gun without congress apporoval, which is illegal.
You can't possibly consider how that was deliberate and a massively successful military operation? That is exactly why dumbasses like you aren't in charge of anything.

Hey guys! How dare you not give 2 months notice of your plans to the enemy so they are fully aware and prepared for your attack! You are a smart one for sure.
