Yes they are, but again, every power does this to varying degrees. Israel backs anti-Hamas terrorists, we armed Syrian terrorists, we armed Iran against Iraq (and vice versa), etc. It's not just that Iran is more despotic, but that much like suicide bombers, proxies are a poor country's foreign policy weapon.

And again, most of these proxies have been wiped out at this point.

You can usually count on totalitarian governments to be focused on one thing over all: regime preservation. No point in being corrupt if you're dead. And Iran has largely followed this model, they haven't tried to commit national suicide yet and likely won't if they had nukes. They might miscalculate however, but that must be weighed against the cost of a war to prevent them from obtaining nukes (aka what Israel wants).

Within nukes, Russia would have still invaded Ukraine. Nuclear weapons aren't that much use against non-nuclear powers because the international blow back would be ridiculous.

I didn't realize you were talking about Russia in Iran, to be fair.

Russia aren't involved, so yeah, they're not going to lose hundreds of thousands of soldiers for Iran.

But in terms of Russia-Ukraine, Russia are (very sadly) nowhere near done, and in terms of Iran-Israel, it's far too soon to assume Iran are done.

Gaza still isn't done, it's been nearly 2 years and all Gaza is at this point is a ruined city. Expecting a much, much, much bigger and more powerful country to just capitulate in a week is wishful thinking.

The one thing you can say is that Iran haven't taken peace off the table. It's only Israel that refuses ceasefires constantly and insists on war. Iran could theoretically fight Israel for years.

You could make a bigger case that the Muslim woman in that video is propagandizing; I've heard her say some super crazy things in a lot of those interviews. What IS fact is that the particular group of fundamentalists in Iran specifically see the destruction of Israel as an objective, and that groups like Hezbollah and Hamas are their proxies. That's pretty much not in dispute. Other wings of that religious faction elsewhere don't necessarily see it that way, but those in Iran do.

The Iranian faction sees the destruction of Israel as essential to fulfill Mahdist prophecy and accelerate the return of the 12th Imam.

And that's Israel's problem.

That's the point. We Americans do NOT want to fight or fund Israel's wars for them. Especially no US troops involved. Fight your own fucking wars Israel.

You can try but I personally don't think it's worth sacraficing a nuclear deal over. Defending against Hamas is much easier than defending against a nuclear power. Not to mention bringing in Gaza into any formal agreement is a poison pill for any Middle Eastern country at this point.

It depends. Iran followed the JCPOA and stopped development. They only picked up after we pulled out. It also can't be overstated how idiotic Israeli's strikes are strategically: if you have a paranoid regime interested first and foremost in survival and not becoming a Libya, Israel's illegal war just gave them even more ammunition domestically to develop nukes.

You can't argue that Country A doesn't need nukes and then attack Country A and threaten its leadership's survival. Makes no sense.

Ukraine was always sacrificial, the stated US policy from the start was to use the Ukraine to weaken and hopefully topple Russia in a proxy war, not to actually help the Ukrainians win the war. Sadly, it will now join the very lengthy list of nations which the US has used, destroyed, and discarded when they were no longer useful to its hegemonic plans.
