Its not going to happen even after Hamas is gone because at that point the Gazans are going to be at the mercy of an ultranationalist government that wants to expel all of them. Of course by then Americans would have lost interest and would completely ignore the continued terror and displacement Palestinians are subjected to by the Israelis.

No you are right. The wouldn't mass kill innocents for no reason. They had a reason, to terrorise the civilian population into turning against Hezbollah but it has failed.

There have been clear unlawful killings and massacres, which is one thing. But what's telling is the IDF has effectively not bothered to punish any soldiers for them. That's a clear message that such behavior is allowed, even encouraged.

It's not a coincidence that as Israel has leaned more on brute force and military power that the country has backslid democratically.
