Isometric training?

What are your goals?

Isometric training is excellent for isometric strength. Is this something you need?

Isometric training is also an excellent way to improve flexibility (PNF stretching).

my goals, maximal strenght and explosivness, i train football and mma , i dont know if this is gonna help me and be usefull, thats why im asking

The only real isometric training I do regularly is neck bridging. But remember, doing bent over rows is also doing a Romanian Deadlift isometric hold. And doing heavy overhead lifting and overhead squats is also some serious isometric contraction of the core musculature. So in truth, most everyone here probably does (and needs) some isometric training although it is done indirectly.

Toufeksian...

Unfortunately I don't know of any studies showing a good carryover from isometric training to explosiveness. Second, the strength gain from iso's is limited to a few degrees +/- the joint angle you held. So, unless you have a specific weakness, I'd say good ol' full ROM lifts.

Generally few people really benefit from it. It does have it's uses, such as training the lock out on certain lifts.

They are essential for flexibility training.
