Isn't it kind of grimmy how the financial struggles of UFC fighters is put on display?

Also, this country has a problem with people not taking responsibility for their actions 95% of income inequality boils down to people making bad decisions. If you know fighting doesn't pay well and you choose to become infighter that's own you, not on Dana, not on the UFC.

You're full of shit. Why don't you provide some actual data on this ludicrous position, or are you unable to because this is simply how you feel? I'll wait.

Isn’t that the #1 requirement of being a Trump supporter?

Anyways, Andrew Yang is about to lay the smackdown on Vince and Dana!! OooH yOu DiDnT KnoOwWWW?!?!
<4><VinceShock><31>
Yang is a cuck, and will do fuck all.

So according to dept.org 31.2% percent of people living below the poverty line are people living in single parents household. Another 31% are high school dropouts. So again bad life choices.

I think even if you have 10 million in the bank and someone, anyone, let alone your boss offers you 10k for a little running/swimming competition against your colleague a lot of people would be up for that.

More puzzling is why so many posters on here who work 40 hrs/week for $40k are really upset that millionaires who fight once or twice/year aren't paid quite enough.

My neighbor, a two year old, is growing up in a single-parent household. His father works multiple jobs. His neighborhood school is, by many metrics, a bad school. Tell me again how, when this kid grows up, he's responsible for those life choices? He can overcome them, but he needs a lot more work and a lot more luck than the kid living in a different part of the city, with two parents making much more money, and with a neighborhood school that is, by many metrics, an excellent school. It's clear that you would rather spout statistics without context, just because they fit your narrative and how you feel. Bug off.

Is he not responsible for his life choices at some point in time? Not everybody is handed the same opportunities in life. Also, not everyone can rise up and change the situation they are in, but at the end of the day the person has the choice to try and better his life, or just accept it and wallow. Either way, he has choices. It's unfortunate but again, not everyone is gifted opportunities or is born with them, that is life.

Mma is popular enough where you'd expect elite fighter that make it to the ufc to be set financially, just like nfl players

Wasn't there actually a study done that showed like 75% of NFL'ers go broke within 5 to 10 years after leaving the NFL?

Not sure if it has anything to do with this thread mind you, just found it interesting, if my memory serves me correctly at least lol

First of all life is not fair we all have advantage in disadvantages we have to play with the cards giving to us, if that baby grow up and decide to drop out of high school and start having baby mommas left and right that's on him.

I came here from the Dominican Republic, with a lot of disadvantages when I was 15 with my mom, while my litter brother and my father stayed in DR, I am 32 now and through a lot of work and good life choices I can say that I'm comfortable.

That's great, and you should be proud. But you're also fortunate, because for a variety of reasons not everyone is able to just 'pull themselves up.' Another easy example that illustrates my point: let's say there's a child who is molested at a very young age. That child, as he/she becomes an adult, has to deal with a lot of shit that makes it a lot harder to 'make the right choices' and 'work hard and live the dream.' It's not this linear path you make it out to be.

i agree, it should be socialist and they all make the same living wage of 30K per year and any that disagree get sent to the gulag.

also, NBA and NFL should subsidize MMA and give a large percentage of their pay to bring up the UFC minimum wage.... why should lebron get so much money when ufc fighters dont, it is not fair!

Also, all CEO's should have to pay my bills because it is not fair that they are CEO's and I am not!

Also, bootlickers should get paid just as much as those with the boots, it's not fair!

Also, everyone should die at the same age, it's not fair that some people only live to 40 and die of cancer they didnt choose and some people live to 100 while drinking and smoking, you know... it's not fair!
Are you a full blown retard? They guy you replied to said none of those things. You sound like a meth junkie mindlessly ranting.

paying someone 10k to swim is not "authoritarian shit" two guys who are not professional swimmers are getting paid to fuck around on a TV show.

Haha, I bet you loved reading Atlas Shrugged

Here's the thing. The fighters know the deal when they get into the sport. It's not like they are promised millions or dollars or they see 1000s of fighters living the life of luxury. It's like if you sign up to work at McDonald's don't whine when you aren't making $200k per year. It's not a surprise.

It's supply and demand. And honestly if the UFC started paying a ton more, you are going to get more people and better athletes entering the sport. Then these guys who are fringe UFC fighters won't even make the cut to get into the UFC.

That's really bullshit to be honest.

The worst part is that it takes a huge hit on the talent pool overall in mma. Most people would think mma fighters are idiots for pursuing fighting as a career when they find out how much they get paid. Imagine how big the talent pool in mma would be if the sport actually paid well.

For example, Terence Crawford, the #1 p4p boxer in the world, also came from a wrestling background and still trains to this day. When asked about it, he said he never even considered fighting in mma because of the abysmal pay, almost a joke on the fighters.

It’s called the land of “opportunity.”

If you choose to fight for a living you better love it or be good at it, because it’s a dream not a reality for the majority us.
