Isn't it crazy how we were all just talking about a GSP vs. Anderson Silva Superfight

In front of 100k people in JerryWorld, just not long ago. It's amazing how quickly things can change in a matter of months

Weren't some predicting this Superfight would take place in February over Super Bowl weekend?

Everybody fucked up, they shoulda done it years ago.

It feels like a huge missed opportunity for both of them now. That poll someone put up about GOAT recently had Fedor running away with it. I think whoever won that fight if it got put together would have had a much stronger argument.

Silva particularly should have found a way to fight either GSP or Jones.

GSP...the only MMA legend to ever win 12 gold belts in the UFC

I never for one second thought this fight would happen.

As Lorenzo Fertitta said about Pac vs Mayweather " gotta strike while the iron's hot".

This year's just been a violent "out with the old guard, in with the new guard" kind of feel to it.

Even Jon Jones was tested. Though he's young and will be around for years.

But, I think it's a good wake up call/reminder for him. Don't take anyone lightly. Look at how fast it can all slip away.

Climbing the mountain, I'd imagine, would be a lot more fun than defending the mountain once you've climbed it.

Very impressive, but Anderson has Most consecutive title defenses (10), Most successful title defenses (10), Tied (Georges St-Pierre) for most wins in UFC title fights (11), Most finishes in UFC title fights (9), Most finishes in the UFC (14), Most consecutive wins in the UFC (16), Longest win streak in UFC history (16), Highest significant strike accuracy in UFC (67.8%), Most knockdowns landed in UFC History (17), Tied (Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture) for third most wins in the UFC (16), Longest UFC title reign (2457 days), Most Knockout of the Night Awards in the UFC (Seven times), Tied (Joe Lauzon) for all-time leader in Post-fight Bonus Awards (12). Moved up in weight and demolished 3 UFC fighters (including a former LHW champion that was coming off back-to-back wins over prime Page and Shogun), been a top 5 in 3 different weight classes (LHW, MW and WW), defeated the number one P4P fighter at the time in Hayato Sakurai. Finishes people with moves you think can only work in video games (reverse upward elbows, front kicks, upkicks, flying knees etc.)

That's more impressive in my opinion.

Yeah, money train left the station without anyone on board. Too bad. Would have probably raked in a record gate and record PPV's.

A disgrace. Ray Robinson, Henry Armstrong and many others are rolling over in their graves. Don King and Bob Arum are scratching their heads. I lay most of the blame on GSP. He can talk about challenging himself all he wants but he could borrow some guts from BJ Penn.

GSP retired with the most wins in UFC history, the most wins in UFC title fights, a better win % than both Andy & Fedor, almost as many top 5 wins as both of them combined & avenged all losses

Also every one of GSP's opponent's have a winning record and have fought in a major promotion. Fedor or Andy cant say the same.

The only fighter that doesn't have a wiki page that GSP has fought is Travis Galbraith, but he's 18-7 and has fought in Pride, Elite XC, MFC, and KOTC.

I don't usually buy into this goat bullshit. And I'm not really fans of individual fighters, but on paper it's hard not give it to GSP.
