Islam Makhachev vs. Alexander Volkanovski is an early FOTY contender

Just rewatched the fight. Still an incredible fight. I don’t see any fights this years toping for my FOTY pick. Upon rewatching, the 49-46 card didn’t seem so bizarre as the third round was a lot closer than it looked live, but even then I still scored it slightly for Volk, however I could see why it was scored for Islam.

Islam won the fight, it was close but Islam won 3 rounds.

This isn't a street fight, it isn't scored by PRIDE rules, it was simply an excellent close fight being stained by the fans unfortunately.
 
People will forget about this fight in 4 months
 
I liked it. These Dagestan haters really are bitching up a storm though. Can’t remember the last time these boards were so flooded with so much menstruation.
