Why? Why do people always want to kill all top contenders, so there is less and worse options for the champion to fight?

Going up to WW you need to go through JDM and Usman or Shavkat before challenging for the belt?

Going up to MW you should go through Hazmat and Imavov first?

I do get that if a champion from the lower weight class wants to go up, they should first take a size up fight and fight someone in the top ten and then top five. Like if Ilia wants to vacate and go up, he could fight Gamrot and then Poirier.
But don’t match the top contenders against each other or the champ from the lower weight class, just for the champ to sit out and claim that there is no one to fight and him ending up fighting someone else, who should not even be in the title contention.

And if he does move up, he's getting a TS over Arman or whoever is allegedly next. Of course then Islam can run up to 170 if he doesn't like it...
