I'm not sure what happens in the rematch as Volk is one of the Goats but I do think there's room for improvement for both fighters.

I totally agree with the undersized narrative, there was not much in it at all and you could make the case that height aside Volk looked huge compared to Islam. I can't believe people can't see this.

islam should have attacked the hand of Volkanovski every time he tried to get up. Chop the hands out he put all his weight on to get up. Islam was too much wrestling instead of taking the pillars down from Volk. Its a simple adjustment.

Nope. You don't know how expectation vs reality works.

You can't change the pre fight narrative at your convenience to suit Islam. Pre fight he was a huge near 4:1 favorite, expected to win and in a dominant fashion.

Everything stacked against him? Your level of delusion is insane. Incase you forget, Islam is giant at 155. And he was fighting the 145 champ.

90% + times a fighter from NZ or Aus fights it involves a long flight often 20 hours +, being in a strange country, fighting at weird hours and non optimal weight cuts. Islam has no excuse here.

You can't change the pre fight narrative - give that, Islam under delivered. Esp as he had to partially resort to playing to the score cards via using his wrestling to stall.

And do I even mention could Islam do that same thing? Could he go up to 170 and perform like Volk just did vs a dominant champ? No way.
