Double-belt chasing looks impressive on paper, but against JDM? Meh. He hasn't dominated WW long enough to make it special. Fans would rather see the Ilia fight anyway ,that's what people actually want.

The WW division looked weird after that Usman lost his belt

Ilia’s higher risk and lower reward

Jdm is low risk (if he loses - he tried to be great) - high reward

Yet some on here are argueing with me that jdm is better then ilia ( I can’t agree at all on that)

no reward at all

Its just the size difference. Islam isn't adding 10 pounds of functional muscle then getting a full camp in. That timeline just doesn't work. He's got time for what --- like a 3 month bulk? He might have trouble getting bro to the ground. Especially since Belal couldn't do it..

Islam is trying to do something great, it is his job to beat the guy across the cage in a fist fight, it is not his responsibility to maintain THAT GUY''S perceived greatness.

Islam gave Volk the opportunity TWICE to attempt to achieve double champ status. Islam now has more(or equal) title defenses than Volk did at that time.

It is his turn to attempt greatness.

If anything things are finally right in the world that the fighter with the greater accomplishments is the one getting the better opportunity and the guy with less accomplishments is the one taking the risk with less reward.

Islam with 5 title fight wins getting a shot to dethrone the guy with 1 title win makes much more sense than the guy with 1 title defense getting the THIRD time Islam had to put his own belt up.

Agreed, it is only for Ilia's benefit, Islam has nothing to gain
