Is Woodley deserving of a title shot???

Honestly now....I know hes a good fighter, but lets take everything into consideration here...

He hasn't fought since January of last year...its gonna be like 20 months when he finally steps inside the octagon.

His last victory was a split decision....coulda easily been an L for him.

Some of his outings have really been lackluster at best.

His biggest win was Condit, but he also got schooled by Rory right after that.

Was there no one else for Robby to fight while Tyrone fought at least 1 more after the long lay away?

They should have had Wonderboy fight Robbie next and Woodley rematch either Rory or Condit for #1 contender.

When has 'deserving' ever become a huge criteria for obtaining a title shot? AT WW though there are many potential title fights to make. Woodley would be one of them IMO.

Of course not. Especially when you consider there's a lot of good contenders he's jumping over. Wonderboy, Maia, Condit rematch, Rory rematch, Magny, are all more deserving. Meanwhile there's potential big fights that could have been made with GSP or a Diaz brother.

Gustaffason got KTFO then fought DC for belt
Don't really know how or what Brock did to get title shot

UFC is not sanctioned by any Athletic Commission when they gift title shots so I guess we have to deal with it.....

Woodley vs Maia would have been perfect title eliminator

Don't forget he was winning the Condit fight but it ended with a freak injury from a takedown. Still a win but not really all that decisive.

Seems like the man as been waiting from since forever to get his chance to dance, Woodley is no less deserving than all the other scratch your head match-ups we've seen the UFC put on...

Do we even know if Woodley kept himself from fighting or the UFC didn't offer any to him and suggested that he wait?

Well, if he'd fought and beat Hendricks then yeah, absolutely. But they didn't fight cuz Hendricks loves the cheeseburgers. Dana then just said screw it and declared him deserving of the next shot like a year ago. Of course, he DIDN'T get the next shot (I assume he was injured?) but, but, uh, he gets it now.

Realistically, Maia and Wonderboy both deserve it more right now, but screw it I wanna see Robbie decapitate a wrestler.

But Robbie Lawler needs a break with the killers and should get a certified squash match (or at least safer match) to rest from the Condit and Rory bouts lol
