When you watch the UFC, do you feel like you are watching a fight or just a competition between 2 guys?

When it's the Diaz bros fighting, it's a fight. The rest would just be a sport to me

Depends on who's fighting and what's going on. Sometimes it switches gears mid-match too.

Both. It's a controlled fight.

This.

Obviously sometimes we see some wild fucking brawls and it feels like more the former, and other times we see technical stuff that feel more like the latter. But for the most part it's both.

No headbutts, no soccer kicks, no groin shots, etc. = Sport.

It is obviously both, but the vast majority of the time I view it as more of a competition. You rarely feel like you're watching two guys who genuinely dislike one another who are really trying to hurt each other. Diaz-Cerrone was a fight.

Its a clean fight not a street fight which includes weapons and cheap dirty shots to the nuts and biting

I feel that I am watching a competition between to martial artists in a controlled environment. Where blood is a side effect of the competition.

Some bjj techniques become ineffective when one can wrench your testicles into submission, gouge out your eyes, headbutt you, and so on. For the most part it is its own type of fight

There are times when it is a fight. But yeah, unfortunately, with guys having to play the rules, it oftentimes is merely a sport.

I view it as a competition but call it a fight.

every competition is a fight so therefore it is a fight. Plus the fact that they are punching and kicking the shit out of each other.

I see it as a limited fight.

Its the closest you can get to real fighting legally.

Of they allowed head kicks on the ground it would be a real fight
