Myers died in May 2002 and Kenney has spent years trying to get police to listen.

"I really, truly feel that Louie was 100 percent honest with me that day," says Kenney.

Myers lived in Vallejo from 1965 to 1971. Kenney says Myers told him the reason he became a killer at the age of 17.

"It was over a girl he broke up with. That's what the deal was with the couples," according to Kenney.

Myers has some interesting circumstantial connections to the crimes.

The first connection, Kenney says, was that he went to school with the kids. Myers went to both Vallejo and Hogan high schools. He could have known first Zodiac victims David Farraday at Vallejo High and Betty Lou Jensen at Hogan.

The second connection Kenney points out is that he worked in the restaurant with the waitress. Kenney says Myers worked as a bus boy at Terry's restaurant in Vallejo and so did Zodiac victim Darlene Ferrin.

The third connection Kenney mentioned is that a military-style boot print was found at the Lake Berryessa crime scene. Myers' father worked on Mare Island and would have access to this type of boot. We're told Myers briefly worked at Victory Military Surplus in Vallejo.

Myers didn't know San Francisco cab driver Paul Stine.

Kenney: "He was just robbing the cab driver."
Noyes: "He told you that?"
Kenney: "Yeah, that was just for drug money."

Sounds somewhat plausible. I hope LEOs are able to investigate and confirm either way. Most likely this is another fraud but it would be nice to finally put this thing to bed.

Man what a creepy case. Crazy that it hasnt been solved yet

Whoa. Gyllenhaal was wrong.

I don't buy it.

getting dumped started it? and doing drugs fueled it?

Mistakes, leading to his arrest, would have been made if either of those were true.

I agree, but at the same time forensic analysis wasn't great at that time, so you could leave more clues and still not get caught.

Yeah, I think it's near impossible to solve these kind of cases. We get shown them solving cases every day on fictional television shows without much evidence, and you hear stories about cases being solved, but the reason those are stories is because of their incredible luck. Most of these cases probably stay unsolved.

For anyone to even be considered to be Zodiac, there needs to be some knowledge of ciphers demonstrated.

Agreed. Unfortunately this guy is dead so he can't decipher anything.

The only reason this holds any weight with me is his alleged proximity to the victims.

Proximity in the bay area...

I can't give it much value. Too many damn people. Too many damn crazy ass people.

My money is on Richard Gaikowski as the Zodiac. If not him I'd say Arthur Lee Allen.

have many doubts the Zodiac was 14 and killing people

Agreed. I didn't do the math when I read the article. It's not impossible to have a teenager murder someone but it is unlikely a teenager would be a committed serial killer.

indeed, he wouldn't have the maturity to pull it off. Teen age crimes are an act of passion (usually).

Good link. I had no idea that website existed. Lots of Zodiac sleuths out there!

For those who didn't read it, this same guy contacted that site administrator about his friend in 2006. He refused to provide anything that resembled evidence so he was ignored. I can't argue with that. If this Kenney guy is supposed to write a book and give the money to families of the victims then he sure as shit should have a bunch more details than where his friend went to high school and one of his part time jobs. Hell, it's not like it hasn't been suggested the symbol is a celtic cross already.

In short, I'll wait for the book reviews. :)

I don't buy the bit about Paul Stine just being for a fix. He would not need to kill the guy to achieve that since the dude was only on his 2nd or 3rd fare of the night. He probably would have handed it right over. Plus all the stuff he did afterwards, like cut off part of the guys shirt in order to prove he did it in taunting letters..it seemed business as usual and it was obviously a planned thing to pick a random cabbie, whether he needed some money or not. It was Zodiac trying to prove to the media that he was game about doing random killings. I know technically, all of them are random but before then he seemed like just some guy who targeted couples but he always threatened to randomly kill cabbies, children, etc. in the city. This was him making good on his threats and keeping the fear alive.
