    I have that Gi......and yes it's illegal.
BTW, it shrinks like a mofo.
Still, its a great gi for training, but yes, it's illegal.

    Illegal. Plus White > Navy

I've had 2 different keiko gis and still nothing wrong with them. Though I prefer Gameness pants

That gi is not illegal. I guarantee you, I just wore it at miami open, its a shade of blue and blue gis are legal. But as the guy above said yes they do shrink a lot. Don't put it in the dryer unless it is way to big for you

Seems kinda of a gip is 150 bucks buys you a gi that if washed in warm water, become useless.

HAHAHA he acknowledges that it's illegal, but he is who he is... It's like do you think IBJJF will not let roger compete if he show up in a pink gi (ala Gene Lebell)?

BTW that gi is awesome, I have one.

I know this is ancient thread, but I'm posting this info in case anyone stumbles across this thread (like I did) while trying to find information on the legality of navy gis:

    http://www.graciemag.com/2011/08/ibjjf-clears-up-issue-of-gi-color/

According to the IBJJF director, navy gis are legal in all IBJJF tournaments, except in some special cases for black belt championships:

    according to the rulebook:

    source: ibjjf rulebook article 8.1.3

Looks like they've removed any ambiguity about navy. Black belts may be required to have white/royal blue only (8.1.4)

    180*

And what is so limited about it? It has been sold for years and there are still copies available? Limited to 10,000,000.

The navy color gi has been an issue for some at IBJJF tournaments. You will probably be okay at a regular "Open" tournament but the Pan/Worlds is another story. I have seen varying results. If you want to wear navy I would take a back-up gi with you just in case it is a problem.

I have a navy Shoyoroll and it is my best-looking gi for sure. It's a great color. Way better than black or bright blue.

I have a navy Faixa Rua gi and it's the best gi I've owned by far.
