I take it you're a maxcarb salesman maybe?

no im not i was told by my trainer take a carb drink in poweder form for post weigh in.

i was seeing if this one is ok

Not really. Post work-out recovery is pretty different from post weight-cut recovery. I mean, yeah, you need to carb up... but you're more concerned about replacing electrolytes. Drink pedialyte to rehydrate. You've usually got a good 16-30 hours to carb up. Unless you've been working like mad, running and lifting (which would be weird) you don't need all the muscle recovery supplements that are in that drink. Better off to get rehydrated with a straight electrolyte drink, get some pasta into you after the weigh in for some slow burn carbs, and then some fruit on competition day for a simple carb energy boost (but stay away from citrus).

Hmmm... that is a bit different. Spoke too soon, I guess. Your trainer is right; you'll need to carb up fast, so the recovery/energy drink right after weigh-ins makes sense.

1.5 kg is just about right for the timeframe (I wouldn't do more than 2.5 with such a short window between weigh-ins and fighting... although I recently did 6 for a jits tourney... but jits is a different deal; wouldn't even consider more than 3 for a same day weigh in for wrestling, and if I had the balls to get in a cage fight I'd aim for right around what you're aiming for).

You'll still want the pedialyte and fruit (sans citrus); and if I can make a bit of an outside the box suggestion, I'd advise you to get some baby food. That's what some of us used to use for wrestling tourneys with same day weigh-ins. Tutti Frutti is good. They also have some pasta varieties, which gives you a lot of the benefits of regular pasta, but it's half digested for you, so your body won't need a night to break it down.

Bottom line, though, if you do take any of my advise, pass it by your trainer. I'm a wrestler/grappler; I hope to help, but I don't want to steer you wrong.

Good luck.

Same idea as Gatorade... easier on the stomach.

Primarily used for kids with the flu (to keep them hydrated). Not sure if they have it in the UK, but if they do you'll find it at the drug store, not the supermarket.
