the amino acid i'm currently taking is a 10,000mg serving size... it doesnt suggest a max dosage....
i've been taking approx 25,000mg a day... i take with my shake in the morning.. take another at lunch... and take a 1/2 dose after i work out... sometimes a full ammount if i'm really blasted....

the results are good... it's helping me out... i just dont want to be doing any enternal damage...
so my question is????
can you over dose on the amino acids???

Which amino-acid? Are you taking a complex or a specific amino-acid. And my initial answer is that you can take too much of anything.

it's "healthy'n fit" anabolic amino 10,000.... it's got about 15 different types of amino in it....

i figured i need to match my amino intake with my protien intake... and i try to eat 300 grams of protien a day..

Well im not exactly sure about the what amino acids are in it, i think they key to everything in your diet should be in moderation. You can overdue everything. Yes even water.

umm.. u do know that proteins ARE aminos right?... the difference being one is in pill form..

most whey protein shakes have all the essential AAs in them, being whey is a complete protein. however, taking a separate AA pill or powder can be helpful because 1) they're already broken down, so there's essentially no, or little, calories, and 2) because of this, they are absorbed more quickly and better. I like to take them first thing in the morning and immediately after lifting(before and after cardio). I can't help you on dosage. Its depends on too many factors, and I don't want to misguide you.

i thought aminos assisted in breaking down protien......

but... if that's the case... you answered my question.... certainly not harmfull

300grams of protein is extremely excessive unless you are 260lb of muscle. You can even add fat pounds with this amount. Based on what you are saying, you do not even need this supplement since you are taking 25grams per day (which is just broken down protein). All of the protein you are ingesting means you are not remotely deficient in any of the amino acids in the supplement you are taking. Question, how old are you and what is your goal?

proteins are long chain amino acids (so when proteins break down they yield aminos)

10,000 mg of amino acids is basically 10 grams of protein. To take 10 grams of protein and then a protein shake is pointless.

And inferior. Redundant and inferior. Get your AA's from your protein. Unless you're specifically supplementing a vegetable protein with its limiting amino acid (methionine for soy, lysine for rice), I don't see the point in taking isolated AA's.

One exception you might note is sometimes I recommend a little extra glutamine postworkout, but whey is already saturated with that, and it's a safeguard, not a necessity.
