Is there a reason Mighty Mouse has low PPV numbers?

probably has to do with him weighing less than most american dudes' girlfriends.

Cyborg making double of Mighty Mouse numbers.

Cyborg can sell double by just crashing some can LOL. Mighty Mouse is truly the worst UFC draw. Yet he wants 2 million for TJ fight.

I see this alot. “ MM has shitty ppv numbers “.

Unfortunately, by people that should probably know better. There’s no doubt he has some shitty numbers. But, why ?

How about we look at the COMPLETE picture.

I’m really not a fan of revisionist history. Or, selective memory. I usually don’t waste my breath explaining what ppl should already know. But, if it deals with a classy fighter like GSP, MM, or Stipe... That’s when I speak up. If you’re going to make MM the butt of your jokes. How about telling the whole story, eh ?

174 - MM vs Bagautinov 115,000 buys.

No major changes. Co-main Rory vs Woodley. A really crappy card.

178 - MM vs Cariaso 205,000 buys.

M.E. was supposed to be Jones vs Alex ll. Alex pulled, replaced by DC. Then Jones pulled. MM vs Cariaso was moved from 177 to M.E. this card. Co-main was Cowboy vs Alvarez.

Oh, and what’s this... Some asshole named Conor fought on that card, too.

LOL...

Nobody wanted to see that fuckin scrub, either.

186 - MM vs Horiguchi 125,000 buys.

M.E. was supposed to be TJ vs Barao. Co-main was supposed to be Rory vs Lombard. Co-main was Rampage vs Fabio.

191 - MM vs Dodson ll. 115,000 buys.

M.E. was supposed to be DC vs Alex. Rumble vs Blachowicz was supposed to be on this card. Co-main was AA vs Mir.

Having great Main Events, and even Great Co-mains, falling through is not really conducive to selling big numbers.

We see it here ALL THE TIME...

Title fight falls through. And, within a cpl minutes. Random assholes are creating shit threads. And, almost EVERYBODY piles on.

“ I’m not buying this fuckin shit now. The M.E. was the only fight I wanted to see “

“ We lost a Title M.E. They should put this on Fox for free now “

“ This card sucks now. 2/10 “

Two of these cards were supposed to have TWO title fights. And, didn’t have great under card fights scheduled.

178 was supposed to have just one title fight on it. But, MM wasn’t even supposed to be on that card, anyway. He was moved from 177, to headline 178. 178 had TWO different LHW title fights fall through. That tends to piss off the plebs. Especially, considering who the champion was ( Jones ).

So, MM was stuck headlining a card in Canada that nobody really cared about. There were no CDNs on the main card. Cat vs Nunes was on the Main Card, though. And, in 2014 ppl hated WMMA worse than they do now.

Cerrone vs Alvarez is on paper a solid fight, imo. But casuals didn’t give a fuck about those guys. And, those same casuals didn’t want to see some scrub leprechaun, named Conor, either.

174 had only ONE title fight. It was another card in Canada. They had ONE CDN on the main card ( Rory ). But, it was not a stellar main card, at all.

If you NEED/HAVE to bash a classy guy like MM. Be fuckin fair about it at least.

And, when MM talked about the $2M. That was supposed to be him moving up to re-match Cruz in a BW/FLW superfight. Come on, you fuckin knew that. But, you chose to leave it out.

Along with EVERY OTHER WORD OF MY POST.

Bad form.

Not enough title defenses.

Size. Not to compare fanbases, but just like cruiserweights in the WWF/WWE. No matter how much more talented they are, they're simply smaller, and therefore not as good as the bigger guys.

You need two guys to sell a fight, DJ just never had that dancing partner.

He's a manlet, racist fans, no hair, ducking TJ. In that order.

He's the size of a child.

Great post but I think the question is more about why doesn't his talent and run translate to buys like it has for others. Jones, Fedor(a decade ago) and even Anderson and GSP, while not mainstream stars the level of Ronda and Conor, come with built in fanbases. It's a product of their talent and reputation. These guys will guarantee you 250k plus, regardless of the card.

But MM, despite being insane, doesn't draw like that. I think it's a bias against smaller fighters in MMA. He has the talent to transcend it like we've seen some boxers do, but hasn't. It's kinda not fair.

people just tend to be less interested in the lower weight classes compared to the higher weight classes. true in boxing too. no one really gives notice to bantamweight or super flyweight in boxing either. chocolatito was one of the top P4P boxers for years but yet no one was all that interested in watching him fight.

He's so fast casuals can't even see what he's doing.

His size, a lot of people love heavyweight despite the talent pool being low and half the fights being two gassed guys throwing sloppy strikes and hugging.

It's due to the anticipation of a ko. It feels as if finishes are more likely at higher weight classes though I'm not certain that's accurate. A couple years ago I remember seeing a breakdown of finish % by weight class and lightweight had a higher finish rate then heavyweight.

He's not a "troubled" fighter. He's a nice guy, has a stable life, and is the best at what he does. A lot of people want to see him "angry" and he's not that type of guy.

Probably because he calls for fights like Borg and Pettis saying it's better than a TJ. While doing his I'm the goat dance.
