Is there a group of car longevity modders out there?

It's not hard to find a group of people that are serious about modding their cars for performance or looks, but I wonder if there's like a fringe group that modifies their cars for longevity, reliability, durability, etc.

And their prized vehicles all have a million miles.

Would be cool to see what's possible at the extreme end.

@Slobodan does.
Since he lives in the outback in Australia they need to keep the cars alive for a long time and in top shape.
A car breakdown could be lethal.
The distance is also insane. Its like 200 miles to the closet neighbor.

I couldnt do that shit

I own a old car I’m trying to restore. I recommend changing all the fluids regularly.

I remember having a conversation with an Australian guy on here where he was saying that they had Toyotas (I think) with 250,000 miles on them or something that folks would pay good money for as they were barely used over there or something...

Oh, and this-

Before my neighbor bought a new Toyota his old Tacoma had 350k on it.

find a job where you can work from home, guaranteed to have a much longer lasting car.

otherwise, dont drive it hard
keep it in a shaded area if possible
do your routine maintenance
avoid kids
buy a toyota

The bold part is so important! They are so bad for the grill! It will mess up the air intake when clogged with human matter. Avoid kids.

Their government hasn't banned reliable vehicles, so its much easier.

You're talking about people who predominately buy Toyotas and Hondas and just drive the piss outa them.

No need to do mods. Just get yourself a slant six and you'll go further than Al Bundy ever did.

Change the fluids regularly and replace whatever breaks immediately, preferably with OEM parts. It’s not rocket surgery.

My mechanic at Acura says he has 11 clients with over a million km on their cars. Who knows, though. He could be full of shit. He does work for Acura.

I was thinking more like people that don't do it to save money, but as a hobby they go through and replace all the cheap plastic parts with metal so nothing ever breaks.
