Is there a case to be made for DC being the second best fighter in the world?

I mean I know he doesn't have the winning streak of some others but I just don't see anyone besides Jones being able to beat him. He's never been finished, and his last two wins (AJ and Gus) are both extremely impressive. I know there is still a sense of uncertainty surrounding him cause he lost to Jones but there's no shame in that.

Cormier is a beast. Jones is on another level.

Bones has put on some serious timber. Is he looking to go upstairs and fight the winner or Werdum / Stipe ?
He may be too big now to make 205.. ...
DC is a better fighter than the one who lost to Jones, physically. But the mental damage may still remain. Rounda Rousey is in a similar situation. I'm unconvinced she isn't emotionally scarred from what Holly did to her.....
