I cant believe Bader is main eventing this card, even though its free. And who the hell is St. Preux?

Will probably the lowest viewed fox card ever

I like both fighters but this is a stretch to have them Main Event a card, granted a card headlined by James TeHuna and Nate Marqaudt wasn't big headliner either but at least TeHuna was a popular New Zealand Fighter fighting at home.

Tell us more things you don't like and don't know.

well, op, its not a fox card.....

it would barely comain a fox card.

its a simply formula, really.

1)LHW fight. u must love the heavier weight classes, no? the average/casual fan does

2) Ryan Bader is well known to casuals. he won TUF, comain'd ppvs and fox cards, and main event'd fight nights before.

3) Bader is ranked in top 10 by UFC, and has wins over notables such as Lil Nog, Rampage, Feijao Calvacante, Jardine, and Magalhaes.

4) OSP isnt as well known, but is undefeated in the UFC, 4-0, 3 finishes, 1 decision.

5) OSP is on a 5 fight win streak, 13-1 since 2010, with a sole loss to mousasi by decision. OSP is ranked in top 10 by the UFC

RECAP: 2 LHW guys, ranked in the top 10, with great wins and streaks are fighting each other; one is undefeated in the ufc, the other is a TUF winner.

I dont see the problem with it headlining a fight night card on FS1

I for one am kind of excited, I liked OSP in Strikeforce and always wondered how far he could make it here in the UFC so I am looking forward to the match itself... should it be headlining, no. Will I watch the card, yes.

Whoa, did not remember he was a SF fighter. The more ya know

It definitely should not be the main event but I'm still excited to see it.

Would watch just for the main event. OSP has been on a 5 fight tear (4 in the UFC 1 in Strikeforce) with his last loss coming from Mousasi... that aint bad.

How do people who take time out of their day to talk on an MMA forum NOT know who Ovince St. Preux is??

I can understand to a casual fan, but if you are in this enough that you are starting threads on an MMA forum it's kind of sad that you don't know OSP.

Bader has main evented a free card before.

This right here should end the thread.

This. Plus the fact it's a free FS1 card, I don't see why people continue to bitch.

He definitely knows OSP, he's just exaggerating to prove his point.

I do agree it's a bit of a stretch for a main event, but I mean Marquardt vs. Te Huna isn't a great ME on paper but it was still a fun event

I have no problems with fight nights being headlined by slightly lower level fighters.

That fight is absolutely 100% a main event quality fight for a fight night. If you are bitching about top 10 LHWs headlining a card then I don't know what to tell you.

Ryan Bader holds wins over former UFC World Champion Rampage and former Strikeforce world champions Cavalcante as well as top 10 pride star Antonio Rogerio Nougeria.
