I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but this one makes sense.
Consider this.
- Jeff Novitski, supposedly an "unbiased" participant in this whole USADA process, goes on Joe Rogan's podcast, and essentially argues for Jones innocence. The bias was clear.
- USADA, while an independent program, is still run through the UFC, and special provisions have been made, which might protect certain UFC fighters and grant special privileges, as recently outlined in that article on MMAfighting (or maybe it was Bloody Elbow)
- Now we have a polygraph test, which UFC sources are saying is legit, despite the fact that polygraph tests have no bearing on a USADA investigation. The only reason I can see to even do it, is to influence decision, albeit in a roundabout way.
Is it so crazy to think that Jon Jones, the UFC's only real star with the absence of Brock, Ronda and Conor, is needed during a time when the UFC is struggling to fill a pay-per-view void, and he's the only real draw left?
