Is the Dahmer series on Netflix really accurate?

Would you say it's more accurate and a better watch than the movies that have been made about Dahmer? I've seen two episodes so far that I thought were pretty good, however from reading forums online like reddit, many seem to say that the series in particular has a lot of innacuracies, and kind of plays up the racial aspect of it just to make the story more intriguing for modern viewers

Haven’t seen it, and obviously wasn't there for the actual events, but the formula for netflix movies about actual events is almost always to hit a few checkpoints somewhat accurately and then fill in the rest with what whatever message the people making the movie want it to say. Hell, even the documentaries aren't 100% accurate, or they leave stuff out that would step on what they want the audience to take from it.

The way Glenda Cleveland is portrayed in the show is mostly fake but the thing with the Asian kid does seem to be legit which is really fucked up

Well that’s not the inaccurate part.

In the show his neighbor is a black lady that repeatedly makes reports to the police about smells or sounds that are ignored because she’s black. She never met him and lived in a different building.

She did exist and called police after her daughter and niece found one of the victims that escaped.

Also the two cops that released the escaped victim back to Dahmer are dipshits but they were never awarded officer of the year medals.

It was never proven that Adam Walsh was his victim. It was concluded that Ottis Toole was most likely the suspect. Even John Walsh agrees with this.

I'm not talking about that movie though. I'm talking about the Netflix series. I've never even seen that movie. I saw the Jeremy Renner one from the early 2000s though, but I don't remember much about it

Yeah, I think that was the most notorious of his crimes, likely because (1) the age of the victim, and (2) MPD’s incompetent officers basically allowed it to happen.
