We've had to put up with claims that an "A-level Athlete" would dominate MMA with anything from a couple of years to just a few months training. Well Ngannou fit in almost totally with this and had over 5 years training yet we clearly saw the technical weaknesses as well as the cardio problems of carrying that amount of muscle.

Who am I kidding though, this will be totally forgotten in a few weeks and the hype will be back for someone else won't it?

Stipe is actually more of an A level athlete than Ngannou.

D1 wrestler, Golden Gloves Champ, College Baseball player.

What is an A-level athlete? Every athlete is different. Every athlete is built for different sports. The only true A-level athlete is one that can cross sport barriers. Guys like Bo Jackson, Herschel Walker, Conor McGregor, etc.

The MMA elite at the lower weight classes are all A level athletes, especially Conor McGregor.

Stipe was a far superior athlete to Ngannou (on top of being far more skilled - skill being the most important factor in fighting by leaps and bounds)

The misconception is when shertards would claim that "athletes" from American dog and pony show sports (nfl and nba) could dominate in fighting...and thats always been retarded...155 pounders would smash Lebron .

Also, at the end of the day, skills pay the bills in fighting, which is why Floyd is so great in boxing and also why Conor is the TRUE GOAT of MMA, i.e champ of the 2 most stacked divisions in MMA history FW and LW

Hes a fighter with MA training going back many many years and arguably tougher mentally which is what counted here.

The only true A-level athletes are Olympic gymnasts and Olympic Decathletes imo, every other Athlete is B+ and below.

Does Connor pay you to hype him like this? Or is there just a personal gratification you're getting from this?

im just glad that the champ is not some over rated fat guy.

Ngannou was never a level athelete. He does look like one

ngannou is a a-level athlete but sipe is just more skilled, thats it.

U ever seen an NFL db?
Lol "NFL players" whom the majority of are obese and dont have enough endurance to go hard for more then 10 seconds at a time.

"NFL and NBA athletes" are probably the most over rated "athletes" on the planet

As if running fast for short periods of time or jumping high and putting a ball through a hoop will make you great at fighting

Heck I would say real football (soccer) is an even superior sport and translates better to fighting, as kicking a soccer ball will give you a head start on learning to kick with solid technique and torque

Ngannou was slow as hell. Stipe was the better athlete and far more skilled.

But I like how you say "and that's all"....skill is the most important thing in fighting derp lol

100 per cent. And to be perfectly honest, I think Francis is on peds

I don't know what that is? No one outside of the USA gives a shit about American Football. The NFL has produced some awesome athletes though, I don't know the dudes name but there was a huge black dude (like 6'7 and around 300lbs) who was doing multiple back handsprings on one of those sports science programs but they're not in the same league as gymnasts or decathletes.

You're out of your mind. If you took these guys at an early age and put them in fighting instead of American football, they're would be a quantum leap in mma

MMA is already filled with them. Especially at the lower weights. I don’t know where this idea comes from that D1 wrestlers aren’t top athletes. College wrestlers are just as athletic as running backs and linebackers. Better cardio too.
