Also I believe Stipe has some contract issues and won't fight until he gets paid more basically. His point being that he has gotten paid less than his opposition several times in a row now and he keeps knocking them out and is the champion.

Stipe has said it's "too exhausting" to think up shit to hurt people's feelings. It's just not his nature. Nor is calling out people in general. The only guy he's done that to lately (Anthony Joshua) isn't even in MMA, and that didn't work out too well.

He hasn't ruled out responding to trash talking though, saying that he could tap into the ballbusting mode he's familiar with from working at the firehouse. He might not have the inspiration to create the stir, but he might be able to hold up his end if someone else starts the back and forth.

Interesting you say "new management team." Actually Stipe did get a new manager sometime between UFC 203 and UFC 211, the first time he changed managers in, like, ever as far as I know. Now I wonder how that dovetails with his current grousing about contracts and getting paid less than Overeem...

I agree he should be calling him out. Let's not forget it was Daniel constantly calling out Jones that started the rivalry and made it such a hot and anticipated rivalry in the sport. He seems to be unhappy with his contract right now so I guess he is tuning everything out.

Jones said he did not want to fight him but if the trash talk began that changes quickly. Jones for a long time really did not want to fight Daniel. However as the trash talk got more and more intense suddenly it was a fight you knew was going to happen.
