If he faces a good wrestler next OR a guy who can defend against Leg locks i think it wont go too well for him.

This makes it 3 losses if he loses his next one?

I will be sad to see him go.

there's plenty of guys i feel he can still beat and i bet the UFC likes him because he tends to be in exciting fights win or lose.

Paulhares eats most wrestlers at 185 alive. I don't see why any fighters would give him problems based on them being wrestlers.

And to answer your question, yes i think if he loses badly like he did against Lombard and Belcher he'll be cut. But i doubt the UFC will match him up with a contender. They'll probably give him a step back in comp or at least a good match up stylistically for him. As the poster above me said there are plenty of guys he can beat still.

The problem is his Fight IQ not his skills. He is starting to resemble Melvin.

I dont think his next loss will get him cut......if he drops another 2 in a row then we got a problem.

yea i mean lets face the facts, belcher and lombard are both very good. i dont think many people would deny that. when's the last time belcher really lost a fight emphatically?

lombard has 34 wins, only three losses, and all the losses were decisions.

come to think of it palhares only seems to lose to the real upper-tier middleweight players- marquardt, hendo, lombard, belcher, etc.

He's not the brightest guy on the block and doesn't react to getting hit too well, but I see him sticking around if he loses his next fight. Unless he fights like crap and gets finished again. Probably not gunna happen though because he'll most likely fight his next couple fights against lower/mid tier guys to get back on a winning streak.

people will continually knock his chin now but i think he's actually fairly durable. lombard hurts most guys he connects on. palhares' problem definitely does seem to be that hes a frontrunner. when things are going well for him, it's all gravy but when he meets adversity, he gets fucked up.

the minute lombard hurt him with that shot that dropped him, palhares looked very timid and tentative- unsure of himself. belcher provided answers for the leg lock and palhares couldnt do anything but get beaten down from guard once that happened.

Palhares' problem is no one wants to fight him and he's not a draw so the UFC isn't pushing anyone to take the fight. Only guys who are stylistic nightmares for him, like Lombard, and are in need of a win will fight him.

Obviously a world class grappler but most everyone has caught on to his game, the sport has evolved by leaps and bounds.

Is it to late for him to change up his game? Who knows but when his meal ticket gets taken away from him he's hooped/Ko'd.

Palhares' problem is that he relies solely on his leg locks to win. His striking is terrible and his chin is sub par. If he can't grab a leg he is pretty much finished against anyone decent at 185.

I wouldn't say he solely relies on them. When you say it like that it makes him sound like a 1 trick pony Cody McKenzie type guy. Palhares is a good grappler overall who can pull off a variety of submissions.

True but he doesn't go for hose other submissions.Palhares bought into his own hype imo.

He took down Belcher and went for a LL from TOP POSITION.Who the hell goes for a LL from the top, they are usually a last ditch effort from the bottom.
He could have gone for an RNC,arm triangle or GNP while maintaining top position and winning the round.

Dan hardy is still in the ufc so I'd say no. He is a great gate-keeper anyways for the middle weight division.

I don't think Palhares gets cut after another loss. The UFC has really been trying to reward exciting fighters, and he is definitely an exciting fighter.
