Are people tuning in to Ronda because she is a woman dominating other women in 30 seconds AND her personality?

Or any other woman was as good as she is but have a different personality, would also be just as popular?

What do you think?
 
Both, if she had Miesha Tate's record/performance she'd be deemed insufferable. She's much like Mayweather or Conor in the fact that if they started losing, people would lose interest really quick, but they can back it up so it allows them to talk all the shit they want.

I watched her coach TUF, it is despite her personality. She is grating to listen to, like nails on a chalkboard.

For the time, she was pretty popular and she road that into the movie business which is much more forgiving. I think most people forgot that she was supposed to fight again on the Werdum vs Reem II card but pulled out due to undisclosed reasons and it was never really addressed. I think she had some deep personal issues, it didn't seem to be injury related in nature. She's a much better interview than Ronda however, but honestly just not as talented physically.
 
Despite dude, despite. 98% of people who are fans of her know nothing about her personality which really helps her. Most people that love her are girls who love that she's a bad ass chick.

Didn't she say 9/11 was an inside job?

Ronda is popular because of her personality. People are drawn to her, be it positively or negatively, because of her personality. She would be a lot less popular if she had the same combat abilities but was a bland pleb like Cain or Mighty Mouse.

Popular as in liked by most people or popular as in sells tickets and PPVs? She has the type of personality that either people either love or hate with very little middle ground so whether her personality helps people like her is mixed.

However, her personality definitely helps her sell tickets/PPVs because fans will pay to watch her win and haters will pay due to the shred of hope they'll get to see her lose.

No she wouldn't. Gina Carano is very shy with interviews, never really talked about herself all that much, never talked crap or made outrageous statements, never went out of her way to piss people off or get pissed off for no reason like Ronda does. Gina Carano does not have a polarizing personality. She was never going to be as popular as Ronda Rousey.

GSP is a special case. In the vast majority of cases, if all else are equal, the Conor McGregors of the Prize fighting world float while the Mighty Mouses sink to rock bottom.

Look no further than Joanna Jerk-a-whatever. According to most people she's got a much more pleasant personality. She not only fights cans like Rousey, she also finishes them in devastating fashion and actually has striking that isn't complete garbage. Her looks are nothing to write home about but Ronda is butterface with mascara and 3 layers of foundation. Joanna Jerk-a-whatever will never, ever touch Ronda in popularity.

She has produced a few half decent sound bytes, but other than that she is hard to listen to. I get weirded out by her relationship with her mother.
 
Some are attracted to winning,some arrogance,some honor,some respect. The people who like ronda either like her because she wins or they are tricked into it by the ufc saying "shes the biggest star" when she clearly wasn't. Some are attracted to fame. Some are attracted to people who they feel resembles them in a way, in ronda's case arrogant brash people. The main thing people should care about is an honorable respectful fighter but they don't always care about that. Goes to show where the world is heading.
