In between watching the countdown and whacking off yesterday, it seems Ronda might have misunderstood Correia - "Please don't kill yourself!" and noted that it's a common expression used in Brazil. Correia even went on and stated she didn't know about Ronda family history and how her father killed himself. It just seemed Ronda is overthinking it

She's definitely gotten to. KO'd mentally and soon to be KO'd by Bethe in the first. Book it.

Tough to say. Bethe mentioned that she never even mentioned Ronda's father and had no clue about that.

Is it really a common expression in Brazil? Brazil wins World Cup, do they say "hope you don't kill yourselves" to the losing team?

I can definitely imagine that it would be a touchy subject with Ronda, losing a parent is tough, especially in that manner. Those are scars that may never go away

Newsflash: Ronda is going to be insulted beyond all reasonable proportion by anything her opponent says and try to use it as motivation. Bethe could have said "I love Ronda" and Ronda would have said, "Bitch, I never said you could love me. Fuck you, now it's on."

Might as well throw the most inappropriate comments you can at Ronda and see if you can't get in her head a little (doubt it, but anyway)

i was watching the countdown and think ronda overreacted. She stated how its a well known documented fact that her dad died so clearly bethe correia must have known the suicide thing would be insensitive. I personally am a huge fan of the sport and had no idea ronda's dad died until ronda made it clear how well known it is. Kinda egotistical to assume everyone knows everything about you. But then i said screw it and beat off as well.

Well they do chant "you will die" at all their sporting events. So saying don't kill yourself seems about right.

No, Ronda is thinking "How can I make people interested in this fight", she's not overthinking anything.

    By armbar whenever she likes.

It's a fight and the chant is an old school Brazilian funk version of "Whoompf! There It Is".

There's a context you guys miss every time you talk about it.

Of course she's overthinking it, she's a female.

Bethe probably knows nothing about her family.
