Is Prime Cain a Favorite Over Every MMA Fighter in HIstory?

Prime Cain describes two fights vs JDS and Bigfoot. He fought two people.

Fedor tools him and bloodies him up
JDS before he lost his soul starched him
Carwin knocks him out probably 9/10 times
Overeem likely beats the piss out of him and finishes him
DC fight is 50/50. IDGAF what DC says about training, its called hyping your teammate

Jones is a very interesting match and could probably finish Cain with nothing more than kicks to the knee.

Cain was in his prime from the Big Nog fight, to the third fight with JDS, with the exception with the first fight with JDS which was due to an injury during the camp.

Due to injuries and high sea levels, we haven't seen Cain back on target. Hopefully he will be very soon, because when he is on target, he's the baddest motherfucker to ever be in that octagon.
False

Yes, easily.

Who would beat him? Fedor?? A guy who got out wrestled by Bigfoot? Lol no. Cain before his plethora of injuries was the best in HW in history, period.

2nd place is debatable. You're looking at current Werdum, roided Overeem, pre illness Brock, and Cormier.

The problem with Cain is you have "prime" then you have "hurt" then you have "KO'd" then you have "hurt" Then you have "prime" then "hurt" then "hurt" then "submitted" then "hurt" then "hurt".

Never understood the buzz around Cain, dude gets lit up and is injured more than he fights.
I respect and admire his resiliency when he is hurt though, but other than that, WERDUM TIME!!

Don't think Cain has fought enough in his "prime" to really say. Everything everybody is attributing to him feel more like fans projecting their hopes and dreams onto fighters.

I can't think of anyone that could beat him. From Fedor to weird style matchups like Semmy Schilt, I can't think of anyone that I would favor over the guy that steamrolled JDS.
Thats why you are a noob

Pretty much everyone at AKA including Daniel himself say Cain wrecks him in practice.

Cain never had a prime. His incompetent trainers saw to that. He represents the greatest argument ever devised against the value of hard work. Under normal circumstances a great work ethic is critical for attaining the highest levels of success in a highly competitive environment. But you have to factor in recovery and know when to back off. You also should not be training in ways that, on the surface appear impressive, but contribute little and risk much in building athletic qualities.

I'd take prime Cain over everyone but Ubereem.

That's just DC giving praise to his friend. What was he going to do, be the greener fighter and claim he was better than Cain? Especially when Cain was already the HW champ in the UFC while DC was in Strikeforce.

DC has shown much better wrestling for MMA and better movement, he may not have the cardio that Cain does, but I think his explosive wrestling would render that point moot.

Cain is very tough and I respect him. I could see him getting beat by fedor nog cc doom and overeem even on cains best day. there are other good HWs out there you know..

Prime Fedor vs Prime Cain (Cain needs more experience but his body is not keeping up with his will) its like the ultimate match up.

I will give the edge to Fedor but this would be something special for any hardcore MMA fan out there.

No, this Cain never existed, he was the product of UFC hype and exploiting a massive gapping hole in JDS's game.

I like Cain and will be rooting for him to smash Browne into the living death, but I can't agree that he'd be a favorite over these fighters in their absolute prime:

Fedor: His aura alone makes him a betting favorite, add in his one punch KO power, crazy chin and well rounded game, and there's no way he's a booking underdog.
Big Nog: This one would be booked with a lesser margin, but I think Nog would be the clear cut favorite with his resume, toughness and skillset.
Werdum: We know that current Werdum can beat Cain, and accepting him as the prime version, he's the favorite against any version of Cain.

I thought a while about Mirko and Bones, but Cro Cop's lack of anything but a defensive ground game would probably put the odds against him, and Jones would be moving up in weight class with too many questions to make him the clear favorite.

Nobody is going to be a betting favorite against Fedor when he was streaking.
